Blue3 organ produces clicks

Post by Jim »

Has anybody else bought or demoed the new Blue3 organ VI from Cherry Audio? It's only been out for about a week.

I'm experiencing the VI going into a non-functioning mode by introducing a low volume clicking sound and the loss of the organ sound.

The only pattern I've noticed is the issue manifests when I switch apps, and then back again to DP.

While it's working, it sounds great to me - better than the Arturia B3 and the AIR DB-33 I bought on sale for $9 years ago.

I reported this to Cherry Support. They said the clicking is a known issue they are investigating, and suggested toggling some of the parameters to bring the sound back. I told them that doesn't work for me, and they suggested the bug may be exaggerated in DP. So, I'm asking to see if I'm the canary in a coal mine.

Thanks.

Surest way to restore any misbehaving VI in DP: Disable, then re-enable the VI using the "Enable" button in the Tracks Window. If you don't see the Enable button, open the Tracks Window Mini Menu and make it visible.

I have to confess this ENA(ble) column has completely flown under my radar. I don't even want to know how long it has existed-- could be embarrassing.

No worries! But it is super useful, especially when you set up a giant template and don't want all the unused tracks/VIs loading your system down. In my template, almost everything is disabled to start except Buses and FX Returns. Opens in a flash, tracks enabled as needed.

I hadn't thought of trying that. I just edited a Sequence with the Blue3, and it was sounding during playback. I bounced it and the organ had disappeared.

I then toggled the ENA button, and the sound returned!

Thanks for the suggestion.
