phase invert?
Does anyone know how to flip the phase of a track by 180 degrees? For the life of me... I cannot find this task in the manual.
Thx,
Ken

Use the invert phase plugin.chancellor wrote:Does anyone know how to flip the phase of a track by 180 degrees? For the life of me... I cannot find this task in the manual.

Anyone know why this is a separate download rather than included with DP?
Just curious.

It was an addon to DP 4.12. It is included with DP4.5 and all subsequent versions of DP.Timeline wrote:Anyone know why this is a separate download rather than included with DP?

I'll just keep mentioning this:
There is absolutely no way, ever to have a button that will time-offset complex, non-symetrical waveforms by exactly 180 degrees. The idea doesn't make sense.
What everyone is talking about (as well as MOTU and others have mislabeled) is POLARITY inversion. Polarity is negative or positiveness of a signal. And there is no such thing as degrees of polarity. Phase means TIMING offset and degree measurements can only be applied to totally regular waveforms.

Yes but every waveform, no matter how complex, is still composed of a bunch of regular sinusoids. And depending how some of those constituent waveforms "line up", you either have phase issues or don't. So, I don't think that using the term phase is completely off base.stickwolf wrote:I'll just keep mentioning this:

thanks!
Thanks for all of the assistance! Like a few of you mentioned. The simple task of inverting the track was buried in a plug in. Not well documneted in the index of the book.
In an effort to mitigate future frustrations. I was thinking of ordering the MacAudio Lab Digital Performer DVD tutorial videos. Does anyone have any experience with them? Perhaps then I'll be able to share some knowledge.
Thx,
Ken
