DP does not remember key commands
Does anyone knows why all of a sudden DP won't remember any custom key commands??
Whenever I open a project all my custom key commands are gone and have to re-enter them again! Please help

Re: DP does not remember key commands
I try to make it habit to save my Key Commands whenever I set them up, and whenever I make a change to them.
Unfortunately, the last time I did a big re-install, I hadn't saved in a while, so I did have to re-do them.
Maybe you could find them in a time-machine backup?

Re: DP does not remember key commands
Weird. I've never seen this. So the Commands revert to the defaults whenever you launch DP? ...i'm guessing someone here has seen this, but not me.
DP's Command Bindings are stored in User>Library>Preferences>com.motu.DigitalPerformer. I'd be curious if you see a Command Bindings doc there, and if so what the Modification Date is. That date and time should be the same as the last date and time you quit DP.
I don't know what the fix would be if the Command Bindings doc isn't updating, but a (sort of crappy) workaround would be what stubbsonic suggests: Exporting Commands before you quit DP and reimporting after you launch.

Re: DP does not remember key commands
The idea is once you set up your key commands you then need to export them somewhere on your computer and then if somehow DP does not recognize your custom key commands you can then importThe file that you export it and that should work

Re: DP does not remember key commands
This is exactly what's happening
I am not on that computer right now, but I will check later. thanks!
Right now is what I have to do each time I open DP... re-import the key bindings. I will also try to trash preferences later... see if I can fix it!

Re: DP does not remember key commands
I have the key bindings file, the issue is that I have to import it each time I open DP!stubbsonic wrote: ↑Tue May 04, 2021 8:53 am I try to make it habit to save my Key Commands whenever I set them up, and whenever I make a change to them.

Re: DP does not remember key commands
I know, but ideally I shouldn't be doing this each time I open DP...

Re: DP does not remember key commands
I'm a little foggy on whether the key bindings are global or if they are project-specific. If they aren't saving with your file, or if they are part of your default New Project template, then there's probably something broken about DP, which might require a reinstall or a trashing of preferences.
At least you have your key bindings!

Re: DP does not remember key commands
Last night I moved the preferences file to the desktop (did not trash it), opened DP (it creates a new preferences file by default), imported the saved key bindings, restarted DP, and my custom key commands were still there. So it was a corrupt preferences issue.
Although by doing that it messed up a little bit DP studio settings (buses and prime milliseconds went back to the default settings) and some screens and session customization were gone too. As I am in the middle of a project working with a huge template, I restored the corrupt preferences file back in place as I didn't want to deal with changing those settings right now, but once I am done I'll trash the corrupt preferences file and start again.
