If you happen to play back with a track with data but muted, and have performed to that same record enabled track (with the record button inactive), if you do the RESTROSPECTIVE MIDI RECORD thang it replaces the existing track. Problematic. Not...
Before retrieving the retrospective MIDI, create a new take. The retro MIDI will be placed in the new take. That's pretty forward thinking on the part of the programmers, IMO.
Also, it gets even easier. Either create a new track or select any MIDI track and arm the record button. Then select retro MIDI and it is placed on whatever track is in record mode when the retro action is called.
