the manual says that only the MAIN output is possible for Audio Units hosts...
shame!

shame!if it's true...
I just scratched my head on this one... I could have sworn I had this working. Actually, I'm totally wrong.torsig1967 wrote:Tried MachFive at my local dealer and he could not assign anything else than main out from MachFive into Logic either.
it's not true. u just make the Aux objects and route the outs from the VI to the inputs of the Aux. it works perfect, no problems.neiljohnstonii wrote:Multiple outs for Mach V work fine in DP 4.6 for me. Haven't tried it in Logic yet, I've been using Kontakt 2 in Logic 7.1
Have you tried other multi out VI's in Logic? Even with Kontakt there is a pretty involved process to get the multiple outs working. Not nearly as straight forward as DP. Checkout the Logic discussions at Apples web site and do a search. That's how I figured the multiple outs for Kontakt in Logic. There are about 17 steps to follow, but once set up it works fine.
I just bought MachFive for Windows, assuming that if RTAS on the Mac had multi-outs, then so must RTAS on Windows. Nope! I had a reasonably good look for info before I bought it and didn't find any mention of this strange oversight. Other RTAS VI's have multi-outs on Windows.jimlongo wrote:In Protools RTAS you get 17 stereo outputs per MachFive instrument.
On any ProTools input you get those same 17 cannels of input.
Yes, you are correct in that this is a simplified way to use a multi audio instrument in Logic. However, if you want complete control over MIDI channels and the audio routing it gets a little more complicated. For example, for live use you might want to use multiple MIDI controllers and access different instruments within the multi silmultaneously. Then add effects separately to each one of those. Not sure if I am explaning very clearly but take a look at this thread:prekoks wrote:it's not true. u just make the Aux objects and route the outs from the VI to the inputs of the Aux. it works perfect, no problems.neiljohnstonii wrote:Multiple outs for Mach V work fine in DP 4.6 for me. kontakt 2 is useless with logic (there is a very annoying bug, kontakt doesn't play the first note in the midid sequence!)- i have that one also. look for the Ni forum, there are the more then 100 bugs wchich should be adressed in from months!
anyway, manual says: Mach 5 does not support multiple outs in logic.
that really sux.
it's like buying a car: everything is fine BUT u can't open the windows now ("but soon we will fix that"). ah..! u can't also drive too long because it makes the car overheat (but un can buy a cooler kit for ONLY 29.99 $!)
