What am I missing?
correct HC!
it's handy
I find it perplexing that a great little app that DP users loved hasn't been maintained, updated or addressed when users ask:What's up w/ DPControl ?
Maybe a 3rd party developed it for Motu and they don't work with each other anymore. How hard
or expensive would it be for Motu to create a new Control app?
imo DPControl is also a great marketing tool for Motu to promote DP.
I wish Motu felt the same way..........

Well, in your specific use case you may not be missing anything. When I am sitting within easy reach of my mouse and computer keyboard (editing, using the one MIDI board sitting right there, mixing) I don’t use it. However, most of the instruments in my studio are not that close, and if I want to record vocals, guitar, piano, etc. having a wireless remote is nearly essential for sanity. So much so that I’ve kept an ancient iPad with old iOS just to run DP control. Sure wish I could run it on a newer device.

Thanks Gents!
I use a footswitch (828es connected) to punch in and out when not at the center of my rig or when both hands are occupied. I keep a mic within reach for vocals, but if I needed to track an acoustic piano, I see that it could be a problem!
I own an AVB setup composed by 8m and Ultralite, very happy with both interfaces: useful and powerful in order to create smart audio networks for recording or live sessions, acting also as cat5 digital snake...
I got good results using these interfaces as 16x16 digital snake during a Theatre tour, Ultralite at FOH desk and 8M on stage: connected to an old Tascam DM32 via adat and analog it turned out an inexpensive and "open" (but reliable) solution to get long run digital multichannel connection, compared to other standard like Dante. Easy managed 14 mics and 8 speaker outs with a single cat5 and very low latency, the same worked perfectly with Yamaha digital desks.
Now I'd like to use the new Touch Console adding a tablet as Monitoring desk on stage, but so far my tests with windows 10 tabs are not so good: there is a weird latency, touch on faders is not so responsive as in the standard mixer window! Buttons response is perfect, eq not so bad, but all sliders and faders show slow and jerky response.
This NOT happens using the standard mixer view!!!
How is possibile? Touch console should be exactly optimized for touch-screen devices...
Note: these tablet are not expensive ones, but the best one (Teclast 16 power) is a little hw beast in chinese tablet market: quad core x7 cpu, 8 gb ram, 11,6" full hd screen... it works pretty well with all softwares but touch console!
I tried to optimize performance in Windows and browsers, with very small improvements, noticed that Firefox works slighly better than Edge or Chrome... but still have lags and some "buggy" feelings under my fingers. Even moving faders with mouse or trackpad connected to the tablet doesn't show improvement so don't think it's a touchscreen performance issue.
I have this problem both via usb and wi-fi connection.
Sure Touch Control works better on iPad, as in the video reviews you can see no lags at all, but sincerely cannot understand the point and I think it's just a poor windows optimization provided by Motu.
