Pretty sure it defaults to whatever is at the top of your Bundles list.

Hit Shift+U and drag whatever you'd like to be the default to the top of the list.

What I want is to have the audio track's input as NONE (no input) as default...

I really wish there was a way around this too!

I'd like my add-a-track output to default to the master stereo bus, but there is no way to make DP do that.

DP's add-a-track defaults to the top track in the hardware-outputs section of bundles.

You could do it with clippings or add similar track, but you have to remember to do that instead of just hit add-a-track.

I can't tell you how many times I've added a track, it defaults to the main L/R hardware output, and you hear it playing back but it doesn't get printed to the stereo mix.

Instead of using Add Track, use the Create Tracks item from the Project menu (Shift>Command>C).

This window allows you to add any combination of tracks with specified inputs and outputs. You can also specify that the newly added tracks will have specific insert settings applied.

I like to drag audio from Finder into DP tracks view , and it will generate new audio track, how can I have that dragged generated audio track's input set to none as default?

Simple to fix after dragging all your audio in...

Select the subject tracks by Shift or Command Clicking on Track Names in Tracks Window

Studio Menu>Track Assignments. (or Option A)

Bulk assign Inputs to "none"

Anything, however small, that saves time and doesn't take your mind away from making music is a good thing.

I definitely wouldn't mind having every new track automatically assigned to a preferred set of I/O.

Also, I wish DP would set sends in new tracks to be at minus infinity INSTEAD of unity!
This applies to newly created tracks manually, or automatic new tracks after importing a bunch of files into the TO.

Why? Because a couple of DP themes (like Plasma) show unassigned sends to be dark (except for the damed volume knob at unity) and this is very nice because it REALLy helps to avoid visual clutter and only see what's actually assigned and used.
This way, assigned sends jump at you easily (if you take the time to reset all the sends to minus infinity, where they belong).

I mean, this is not a huge issue for me, but if implemented, it would save us all some time in the long run. I'm also all for saving time and avoid unnecessary and repetitive actions when possible.

I've never understood the logic behind DP setting all the sends in new tracks to unity :?
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.
