Indeed, no "Surprise, Surprise!" I am seriously looking at the iMacPro, thanks to you. Apple offers a really annoying finance program through Barclays with 0% interest. I say annoying as dealing with the bank is... really annoying, not particularly responsive, and their "tech" is like dealing with the 1980's.

No new hardware was announced at the WWDC yesterday. Plenty o’rumors.

I upgraded my 4,1 to a 5,1 12-core not that long ago, so I guess I'm good for a while, but I'm beginning to think that the next MacPro, assuming it will be a great machine, may just be out of my price range. I'm beginning to consider the the possibility that I might be running DP on a Windows machine someday.

The new New Mac Pro goes back to the core principles of Mac Apps. Their purpose is to sell Apple hardware.

The Tech Crunch article told us that Apple is developing bleeding edge Audio and AV apps and that this new Pro is going to run them.

This article puts it in pretty good perspective. Apple is working with Pixar, LucasFilm and DreamWorks on the project and it is a combination of apps and hardware. My sources in Austin and Cupertino say, “absolutely”.

This article is typical of the “What Apple must...” nonsense that comes out every time that new hardware is announced. Too bad Apple didn’t survive the loss of the serial port, SCSI, FireWire, DVD drive, floppy disk and headphone jack... Oh wait... So, if you want to read what will not happen:

There is nothing in DP that needs a new Pro. Perhaps, after it is built, MOTU will find a way to make use of its capabilities. MOTU has dipped their toes into Pro AV before—perhaps they will again?

Will the new Pro run DP? Of course. Better? Yea but so will the iMac Pro and it’s here now. If you are going to make extensive use of VIs, you can get up to 18 Cores. OK, fully loaded 18 Core, 128G, 4T, Vega 64 16G will run over $11K but...

Apple is often a good bang for the buck but, a Windows machine may just be what the doctor orders for many.

You got that right. Yet another writer who thinks Apple should be cranking out cheap PCs. It's worked so well for others in the past.
