BWAV time stamps not lining up properly between DAW's
Anyone encountered this? I've not until recently, now it's twice in a month. In both cases the time stamps of imported files have been off by a second or two or 4. These are files recorded with merged and exported BWAV's from my sessions.
I have to wonder if it relates to this in any way, though it should be cured on my end due to the merge:

Maybe it relates to a similar scheme in other DAW's?

One of my clients is PC based and using Cuebase. I have to send him WAV files, not BWAV so that they stay in sync with what he sends me.

Thanks. That's the second report I've received of BWAV versus WAV with Cubase. That seems entirely backwards from standards.
One of these was Cubase, the other was PT9.

How are you getting (non-B)WAV? Converting externally? I only see BWAV and AIFF as audio options in DP.

No, within DP (9.01, in my case) in the Export options from the Soundbyte window.EMRR wrote:How are you getting (non-B)WAV? Converting externally? I only see BWAV and AIFF as audio options in DP.
A fairly long drop down list appears with Core Audio WAV as an option.
Hope that helps!

DP 8 only shows me BWAV and AIFF. I hadn't noticed SD2 had gone away.

Re: BWAV time stamps not lining up properly between DAW's
I'm guessing you're right with the other thread. I've had this happen with BWAV files and for me the answer was Punchguard too. Changing it to "Only Record Pre Roll When Punching In" seems to fix it. No problems swapping BWAV files with any other DAW after that. It does make sense, where does the pre roll go if not in the file? And punching in is the only place I really want pre roll anyway. Never missed the start of something so far.. my motto is if the band is playing anything, we're recording.
YMMV

I was wondering why one of my clients was having timing issues with files we were exchanging.
We ended up going with just the Core Audio WAV.
