is Slate VBC working with DP8 for you?

Post by philbrown »

Mac Pro 4,1 running 10.9.5 DP 8.07 in 64 bit. Before anyone asks- I have the latest versions of EVERYTHING. This a clean fresh install from the ground up on a new SSD- the only things I've imported/migrated are my email and web links. I've been working for weeks on this install and everything is wonderful except Slate VBC quickly crashed a really simple project. This is the only crash I've had. Slate FG/X won't run at all as it's still 32 bit (that's a whole 'other thread). Maybe this a fluke or bad install, but if VBC is wonky I'll use other tools as my whole goal with this install is stability.

Is anyone running Slate VBC with DP 8 with no problems?

VBC working fine here in 8.07. I'm still on Mountain Lion, though.

Did you try removing the VBC component from your components folder and then re-installing VBC? That might help.

Hi--
The 'MU' unit didn't pass AU test first time round, so I had to re-install it and then the whole thing passed. VBC occasionally causes crash, especially when I'm switching from one unit to the other, I'd say it's 95% stable, but I still make sure I save the project before I load VBC/switch units within it.

FG-X works via 32 Lives in 64bit systems, some say it sounds different when used this way, I haven't A_B'd it to verify if it's true...

I'd say maybe try re-installing VBC and see if the situation improves.

Thanks for the replies.
I'll try reinstalling it and see what happens.

I'm having the same problem in a similar setup - Trashcan with 10.9.5, DP 8, and Slate VBC making things freeze up or crash as well. The Virtual Tape Machine is not a problem; it's specifically the VBC plugins. Did the reinstall work for you?
