Hi, recently i've been experimenting with DP's BDE on my drum tracks (8 tracks/take), and i've found that the only way i can get it to sound good enough (no phasing in the overheads) is to create soundbits from beats (using the kick drum and the snare drum tracks) and then quantizing the soundbites, dragging all of the left edges to the left (to cover gaps) and then crossfading the soundbites together.
The two prblems i've run into are these:
a) the crossfading takes about 2 hours to complete
b) DP will play the tracks only for a few bars before tracks start getting out of sync or stop playing all together. To get around this, i've had to duplicate the tracks (to avoid re-calculating the crossfades), merging, and copying the merges to a new take on the orginal tracks. Then i listen to the merge, find the areas where i need to adjust the crossfade boundries, adjust them, and then repeat the whole process.
I'm just wondering if anyone can give me a bit of insight into these issues.

P.S. I am running on a Dual G5 2Ghz with 1.25gb of ram, and a M-audio FW-410.
