Interesting posts. I thought the spikes were just me and my antiquated gear (iMac G4).

MOTU should fix the problems rather than creeping the features.

its hard to believe that it wouldn't be an on going process for a software co. to continuously be working on optimization.
MOTU hows your optimization dept. coming along?

Not to sidetrack the thread, but it might also be beneficial for us to acknowledge that we will pay for this update. Some have already done this, and I'd like to add myself to that. I would pay good money for an optimization. I know, many will say it should be included, and yeah, it should, but I'm not going to argue about it, I would LOVE to pay for an optimized update.

I'm going to try reverse psychiatry (thanks, Archie Bunker)here:

I don't think MOTU CAN optimize DP. I don't think they're smart enough.

OSX is in version 4, and has been out for three or more years, and I think that if MOTU had the intelligence to optimize DP, they would have done it by now. So apparently, they're just not up to it. Maybe they should slip into Cupertino or into Germany, and try to recruit some of the Logic software engineers to do it for them, as they obviously don't have the collective brainpower to pull it off. Nyah, nyah, nyah!

Maybe someone should fix the spelling in the thread title? Makes this whole thing look more, shall we say, uh, professional?

I'm always in favor of faster, more powerful, more reliable, and better sounding. In regards to almost everything, pretty much.
