Petition to optimize MAS

Post by amerecordingstudio »

Okay guys, let's keep it simple. Just add to the list by posting. No long posts please, leave those to discussion threads like this one: http://www.unicornation.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=8262

Mods, please sticky.

We'll send MOTU an email with this thread after a week or so (once it starts getting long enough to mean something to them :P)

***********************************************************************

Please refrain from discussing this. Use the other threads for that. Keep it to one post/user please.

Can I suggest (if it's not already in your sig) to include a quick run down of your recording set up relevant to DP.

Anyway, a more streamlined DP is definately my no. 1 feature request.

DP 4.61

G5 Dual 1.8

No new features just optimization of the audio engine please, but if you can do both, that would be equally cool and would justify paying an upgrade cost. (hint: external FX plugins with latency compensation)

hmmm, i have a feeling motu's going to brush this off. I mean, I remember last time there was a big petition for the option to turn off the dymcpu thing...but motu continues to insist that there's no need for such an option. Plus, with the new quads out and more powerful macs in the not too distant future...I see motu saying..."ah, it'll be okay, faster computers will be out soon, etc, etc." I hope I'm wrong.

Agreed. Logic's superiority in performance is embarrassing. Motu, do something.

Not just logic. This is from cakewalk: "SONAR 5 is the first native 64-bit digital audio workstation on the market...SONAR 5 sees a 20-30% performance gain..."

Motu's DP 5 would probably say..."you will see a 20-30% performance loss..."

Dang it, I love dp though.
