Automation - I hear it but don't see it?
Hi everybody,
I have a positively weird issue cropping up from time to time. I have some sessions where volume automation seems to be working correctly (everything sounds correct and I can hear the fades), I don't see the faders moving in the mixer. I have other sessions that appear to work fine. I've yet to detect a pattern here (I'm actually troubleshooting this for someone else). It's rather disconcerting. Anyone else seen this issue?
Already tried deleting the preferences files.
Would appreciate any advice you could offer.
Thanks!
Mike

Are you sure you're using track automation, and not bite gain/volume?mesayre wrote:Hi everybody,

Yeah, these are all MIDI tracks. Sorry, should've said that before.

Are you viewing the mixer for the current chunk?

Hi,
Yes, there's only one chunk in the project. Also, all the other tracks chase, it's just the track that's selected that doesn't chase. It's like DP thinks someone is touching the fader, even when no one is.

Might be time to call that Great Unicorn in the Sky (MOTU tech support).

Are you sure the channel is not set to an automation mode in the mixer (e.g., Latch, touch)??mesayre wrote:Hi,

Make sure it's set to read it.

Re: Automation - I hear it but don't see it?
I think I tracked this down. Looks like a buggy Faderport firmware was causing some chaos with DP's HUI driver, leading to some seriously weird, unpredictable stuff. Upgrading the firmware to 1.3.8 seems to have fixed the issue...for now
Thanks everyone!
Mike
