Ambient demo combining the first three waterphone patches from this library - 100% waterphone sounds, 100% MachFive 3.
The percussive sounds were made by hitting the bottom of the waterphone with a soft beater, the patch has 6x round robin samples and produces some great sub-bass frequencies.

So I spent the entire day sampling the timpani - 3 pitches (D1 - G1 - B1) with 5 velocity layers and 8x round robin, the first 3 velocities played with a soft beater, the highest 2 layers with a hard beater for more punch.

Then I sampled dynamic swells - crsh./decresh 16 seconds, 2 variations, soft and hard beaters (cresh to mƒ/ƒƒ and back), 8 seconds to ƒƒ only with hard mallets.

Then I sampled glissandi moving the pedal after the hit, up and down where possible, some variations. Then I tuned the timp way down to C1 and used a big gong beater for tribal drum sounds with 8x round robin, also with rim shots. In the end I put the waterphone on the timp and played a long impro bowing the waterphone and beating the timp. When moving the timp pedal, the water inside the waterphone begins to shake and modulates with the glissandi of the timp, quite amazing.

Woaaaa, this library is huuuuuge.

Playing the beginning of the Bach English Suite No. 6 with waterphone samples in granular mode, keyswitching between various samples (or better sample segments isolated from one looong sample) on the fly, controlling grain speed, grain detune and grain density with MIDI Controllers. I think I'll make a record with Waterphone and Bach :)

Here is a first quick and dirty demo with the patch "Tribal Timps" - timpani tuned to the low C1 (as low as possible) hit with a large gong beater - 8x round robin, then there are rim shot timps with round robin and some glissando timps, all in the same patch split across the keyboard - 2 octave range for the round robin drums and one octave for each gliss at the high end of the keyboard. In case you have a subwoofer, he/she will love this demo:

Here is an experimental soundscape made from the loooong sample that emerged from the process described above. Granular sampling, the Layer is set to 3 unison voices, unison modulation for pitch via the Modwheel so you can spread the whole sound out to +36 - 0 - -36 semitones between the 3 unison voices. One patch, played live, 100% MachFive:

Hendrix was one of my heroes when I grew up, besides all the classical and modern music I got into my system, so subconsciously this might be influencing :)

Yes, Alchemy is awesome, so is MachFive, so is HALion 5, it's hard these days what to choose. M5 certainly is very inspiring for me, that's why I chose to support it in the future. With the crossgrade discount from Kontakt I think M5 is "only" 249 bucks these days.

I added some elements to the "Time Flies" demo, it's fun to revisit existing demos adding some colours to the picture...

After 5 days of cutting and editing waterphone samples I know have a great collection of sounds. Here is a demo using 4 instances of MachFive, each one playing a different waterphone patch. There are 2 keyswitchable Trio-patches involved, where you can choose on the interface which 3 samples/trios you're playing, how you want them mapped, sampling or granular, lot's of modulation options, then there is the Long Bow Pad in the 2nd half of the demo, with 13 multisampled long pitches over the entire waterphone range using a violin bow, sometimes crossfading different parts of a recording to get these ethereal sustained sounds. The metal percussion is also waterphone. There will be about 600 MB of waterphone samples (around 100 samples) in this library.

Two MachFive-3 patches ("Waterphone Calm Textures" and "Scape Synth") processed with B2 reverb compose this dark drone texture.

No "hard" does not work. (The universe consists of a sound is what the word of music is).
