MOTU 828 ORIGINAL - RECORDING PBM (ableton - soundforge)

Hi,

Just bought a 828 original, all ok when installing drivers and the sound work perfectly, i pluged my dj mixer on it.
The problem is when i want to record: tried on ableton live 8 and soundforge 10,
they recognize motu audio Asio (analog 1-2) no prob for that but can't hear anything then can't record nothing; it just bleep and crack (sometimes hear 1/2 seconds of a song)
(when bleeping, little signal comes in the meter of the recorder);
i'm on internal clock wave, 512samples, 44.1Khz (tried to put SPDIF, then i hear the sound but no signal at all for recording)

I'm on Xp Sp3 and just installed the latest driver for that: 3.6.7.3

Can someone find the issue?

If you want me to look over your system, I'll need the info.

Open a command prompt and type this then press Enter: msinfo32

File | Save on the opened screen.

Upload the saved file somewhere and paste a link here.

Other than that, to record and hear at the same time, you have to set the DAW track to be audible. Each software is different. You can also use CueMix (Motu's software mixing board) to monitor.

The cuemix console don't work with the 828 original (info from motu's site)

problem found and solved: my firewire cable was ••••, just changed and it works perfectly!

I was looking over things anyway and a huge red flag was obvious.

You should update your video card driver from NVIDIA.com. This is very old and the system will thank you much for it:
