NanoSampler Broken in DP 8?
If I drag a WAV file into the Nanosampler window, the name appears below, but no waveform appears in the window and I get no sound. However, I can get it to play its presets. Is Nanosampler broken in DP 8.0.4? I have rarely used it, so maybe I'm doing something wrong?
Thx,

Re: NanoSampler Broken in DP 8?
Sorry there is no definitive answers, yet, but does the sample rate of the sample match the project? Otherwise I got nothing.

Re: NanoSampler Broken in DP 8?
16 bit WAV dragged into a 24 bit project. But this should work, shouldn't it? I'm sure I was able to do this in the past.
I have tried dragging from the Finder, importing using menu, and trying to drag a soundbite from the tracks window.
Is it working for you? Can you drag a WAV file into the Nanosampler window and get it to play?
Thx,

Re: NanoSampler Broken in DP 8?
.wav files not playing back over here.
they seem to import, but are grayed out in:
project / Plug-In Data / nanosampler
.aif files work as expected
Comparing the file types with Get Info, under the More Info tab for the .wav there's no data.

Seems like Nano may be corupting wav files on import.
If I drag the wav file directly into the
project / Plug-In Data / nanosampler folder and load it through the Nano drop down menu, under Project, the sample plays back as expected.

Thanks, reedstar!
I guess I will contact MOTU on Monday. For now I guess the workaround is to convert my files to AIF first? I will also try the folder method you mention.
Amazing something so basic could slip by beta testers! I guess nobody really uses Nanosampler and that's why this problem hasn't been reported till now.

direct into the folder saves a step and creates one less version.
the nano is pretty handy, low overhead, if there was a way to route LFO to amplitude that would make it tons more groovy. With Device Groups several Nano's can be stacked together - it's not hard to build up interesting sounds.
While they are functional, NRPNs are not the most convenient way to use physical controls with the Nano. For such a few number of parameters "learn controller mapping" like Modulo does it, likely would be simpler.
Seem to recall a limit on sample length that seemed arbitrary.
good luck.

Re: NanoSampler Broken in DP 8?
Will try a shorter sample. This one is maybe 8-10 seconds long.

The limit was 20 seconds (I'm still on 7.24). In 7.24, you can still import a longer sample, but it stops playback at 20 seconds, FWIW.reedster wrote:Seem to recall a limit on sample length that seemed arbitrary.

Re: NanoSampler Broken in DP 8?
I was having loads of problems with spiking etc on some recents projects. I finally narrowed it down to nanosampler and had to render the audio then scrap it.
I also have problems with Polar regularly crashing DP8.
