See this is what I really wanted to know:)
So most of you are not having any known problems going from Panther to Tiger with DP 4.6?? Are most of your plugs working too?
I'm looking at getting new G5 but the dual cores are 10.4 only and I'm currently working out of 10.3.9. I've thought about buying an older machine , 2.5 perhaps, so I could keep working out of Panther. If there are no issues with Tiger, it doesn't make sense it still use 10.3.
Any other info/feedback?
THANKS
Tiger vs. Panther for 4.6?

Look at iPartition I haven't used it, but it does what you're looking for.bongo_john_uk wrote:Is there any way to partition a disk already partitioned?

Thanks but I just found another way to make sure all goes according to plan.
I have made an image of my system disk with carbon copy cloner and a bootable cd with boot cd. I put carbon copy cloner on the boot cd along with disk utility etc.
If it all cocks up (Unfortunately apple hasn't provided a neat way out of an aborted upgrade) I can boot from the cd and restore my system disk from the image on my external drive!!
I am just about to do the tiger upgrade now.. bit scared still even with the backup..
I have an unusual system in that I have a load of unix stuff running in the background that I can't afford to lose (constantly used by my other business). I have a nasty feeling that a tiger upgrade will mess with that too. This wouldn't be a concern for most musos though..
