It enables the use of 32 bit plugins while you are running DP in 64 bits, thus enabling DP users to move on and keep up with the times, even though some of their plugin developers are dragging their heels. I don't have it (I'm all 64 bit), but those who use JBridge say that it's very well thought-out.Timeline wrote:Bump!rodger1811 wrote:Wow..... You're a real a**!!! There's NO emergency for 64 Bit! I remember thinking at the time: "This is it! The future has arrived! I now have my dream studio in my grasp!" I believe said studio consisted of as Tascam 244, Korg PolySix, Monopoly, DDD-1, SDD 1000, and Kawaii K4r...Gravity Jim wrote:Man, seeing the TOS desktop again freaks me right out! Gotta remember that when I find myself complaining about the lack of something in my current set up.

Thanks for that Shooshie. I'm waiting like many others for UAD but it looks like i'll still need that bridge for the older VI's anyway.

Timeline-
I got jbridge and thought I'd have to hunt down VST's for 20 or 30 plugs besides my UAD plugs, thinking it would be a hassle and screw up my system.
WOW!! I was wrong!! This is a great app!! And the developer is really nice, answers emails if you have any questions etc.....
Jbridge is really the best $13 NoBrainer I've purchased in a really long time!

I approached the purchase of jbridge with much trepidation, initially thinking well it's only $13 and if I can get a few VSTs working and add a few here and there it will be OK but I'm blown away how well jbridge is working and how easy the process was for me.
I really don't care now if UAD or most of my other plugs go 64bit! lol
Good Luck

yeah, just about every day for the past 2 weeks I've been saying, "today I'll get jBridge". But I've been so busy, I just haven't had the chance. Partially, I only have 4GB of RAM on this computer, so 64bit isn't going to get me much. But I think DP gave me a sign yesterday, it finally popped up a "You're running out of memory" warning. I'm seeing 12GB kits for about $80, so when I get the chance, I'll order one. DP has just been working so smoothly, the fact of doing any upgrades or modifications just seems like a waste of time currently. But I know I won't regret it, so I'll get there eventually.

Shooshie wrote:bayswater, I think he was looking for a GOOD one, not just one of those average DAWs. Something like Dr. T's. Yeah, now there was a good DAW. They just don't make 'em like that anymore. Dr. T's on an Atari (or was it Commodore?) THAT is a first-rate setup. These new DAWs just can't compete with the real thing. And on wooden disks, no less. OH to funny Dr.T's was on an Atari, I used it nice MIDI program for it's day. I used a smart fsk box to link MIDI and Audio from a multitrack.
