More instances or more channels?

Post by wunderpit »

Given my config (below), should I be using more instances of K4 & PLAY, or using 16 MIDI channels per instance of my VI's? Trying to get the best balance of performance possible! If there is a previous thread regarding this please advise. Thanks!

From what I've been informed, PLAY does better opening a new instance for each instrument and Kontakt is better to load up instruments in one instance. Also, EW says to load PLAY instruments before Kontakt for better memory management.

Interesting info, thanks. How do you set up PLAY to load first?

I host all my VI's in VE Pro. It loads things in order of how they are in the instance, so I move all the PLAY VI's to the beginning of the setup.
