This was the case also on my old G5 dual 2.7. I thought the intel would clear things up but I can't get all the way through the playback of a song (or a "freeze track") without at least an audio glitch or two or several. The buffer is set all the way up (1024) and the cpu is idling along in DP (I'm using it as a plugin in DP). The polyphony is set to 24 and the only other patch loaded in is a flute patch.
I am running 44.1 at 24 bit. It even does it when soloed. I just tried it with the Concert grand from the universal.ufs "piano & co" and same thing so it's not patch specific. May the pianos are showing it because of the long sustain?
Any ideas?

Are you using the same drive to record on and store you Vi sounds on? This could choke the flow.
Mac Pro 2.8G 8 core,16G ram, 500GB SSD, 2x2TB HD.s 3TB HD, Extn Backup HDs,Nvd 8800 & ATI 5770 video cards,DP8 on OS 10.6.8 and OS 10.8; MOTU 424PCIe, MOTU 2408; Micro express. Video editing deck on firewire, a bunch of plug-ins and VI's.Including; MX3 and M5-3. FCP, Adobe Production Bundle CS6. PCM88mx, some vintage synths linked by MIDI. Mackie 16-4 is my main mixers

No - I'm using the internal drive for the Mach5 sounds and an external for all the recording. Any other ideas?twistedtom wrote:Are you using the same drive to record on and store you Vi sounds on? This could choke the flow.
