Heat problem

Post by areft »

Sorry, I couldn't find a better place to ask.
Is it ok to put my laptop (15" MBP) on traveler cause it gets hot after an hour.
I usually record at different places and this way doesn't take so much space but heat makes me worry about it.
There is special gel for cooling laptops.Did you ever use them between these two?
thanks

.

I personally would never place a laptop over an audio interface because of the heat.
If you must do it, I'd suggest you get some kind of small platform with four rods, so most of their bodies don't touch each other. You should leave a few centimeters of space between them.

Kind of the exact opposite you want during ... never mind!
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

For now I use a short, thick cable between them.It gives about the centimeter distance for breath.
Any other portable suggestion would be appreciated.

+1 You can buy these at most home improvement stores. Cheap and they help a lot. I put those on the bottom of my iBook and having that room for air to circulate underneath is a big help.

You might find it more convenient to install the bumpers to the top of your interface.

What do you think about these three?

The last one is very easy to make.
The Gel mat is also cool.
