Warning!!!

I installed it and now it does not show up in DP, Bidule 32 bit, or VE Pro 32 bit. It looks like the option to co-exist both 64 and 32 bit versions is not possible...

And...it does not even boot in VE Pro 64 bit.

Proceed with caution about this one. Crap.

I have a post over at MusicLab's forum.

Well, I repaired permissions, rebooted, and recopied the .component files from the Real G and RealS folders in the Applications folders to the Components folder and now everything is fine.

Weird.

Good morning cbergm7210 and forum,

Are you running RGuitar 64 bit plugin in DP?
I thought it was not possible to run 64 bit plugs within a 32 bit DAW.

Thank you,

Unfortunately, I got downgraded to a 32-bit system, but the new versions of RealStrat and RealLPC both seem to work fine with my DP without any hassles.

Yes, it works fine, as does Amplitube 3 and others that are also 64 bit. I admit I do not know how specifically these 64 bit plugs work in DP, but they do, probably in 32 bit mode somehow. With a 64 bit DAW, you have to run 32 bit plugs in some kind of a bridge, but it seems with a 32 bit DAW, it will run 64 bit plugs.

Perhaps someone more educated than I can explain this.

Hello forum,

Thank you for your reply and the good news, cbergm7210. I will update to RG 2.3 shortly.

Downloaded the installer, installed RealGuitar. Launched DP, got
the message that RealGuitar did not pass AU validation and would not
be loaded.

Tried trashing AU validation cache, deleting the component, copying the components from the RealGuitar applications folder into the components
folder - launched DP again, all plug-ins scanned again - and once again,
same message. RealGuitar won't pass validation.

Oh well - it's still running on my PC where most of my VI's live.
I tossed RealStrat in the trash after I got Vir2's Electricty, so
no need for that. Kinda bummed about this one, though.

After trashing AU info cache run RealGuitar as a stand alone app. Close it and then start DP and let it attempt to validate. Worked for me with RealStrat.

Would love to do that, but when I launch the standalone, it says it needs
authorization, and I have no idea where the license key is.

Really, it shouldn't be this difficult to get a VI to work.

That might explain why it's not passing validation, especially if you've run it as a demo and the time is up! Simply contact MusicLab (http://www.musiclab.com/support/contact.htm) and request that they resend you the license key and serial. You don't have to fill out the serial number box on this page; they'll know who you are if you submit the request with the name and e-mail address they have on file. I had to do this a few days ago when I updated RealStrat and RealLPC, because RealLPC's serial wasn't showing up in my "About" window and I had no idea where I'd put it, meaning I couldn't access the update. To my surprise, they wound up sending me all my serials and license files within a few hours.

I've had a few strange occurrences with the Real instruments and DP, but most of them seem to be solved by either opening the VIs up in standalone or restarting the computer.

You know, the last thing I did after monkey-ing around with this, is to go into the plugin pref's and force DP to engage the plug even though it said "Failed". Of course, you get the "This may cause DP to crash" warning, but I did it anyway and everything showed up. Trying forcing it, David, and see what happens.

There's definitely some kind of bug in their update.

Problems here, too. Sometimes it seems if it works, don't fix it.
I tried a combination of cbergm7210's suggestions & both RG & RS seem to be working.
I repaired perms, rebooted, trashed the components, copied them over from the apps folder.
RG worked, RS didn't. I forced it, as suggested, and it seems to be working.

This forum is a Godsend. I'd like to thank everybody for all the help and suggestions that have been posted here over the years.

I wish everybody here a happy holiday season & best wishes for the coming year.
