I have been using Apogee X-Firewire with DP 4.6 and my Rosetta 200 and it is working great.

I'm using the rosetta 800 with x-firewire into DP. The only way it works for me is to run at low priority, otherwise i get unbearable crackling. So it's working for me--I'm somewhat concerned that i am losing CPU?

Good luck

I had the same problem with the AD/DA-16X. Audio/MIDI Setup Aggregate Devices solved it for me (assuming you're using Tiger). Even if you have one device, it seems to work and allows for much more flexibility in Priority settings.

jcar, I'm thinkin of the 200. What priority setting do you use in DP and what sample rate are you working in?
Thanks.

This is an OT question, but does the Rosetta 200 allow you to use it as an A-to-D and D-to-A simultaneously? It seems somewhat useless to me if you can't.

As soon as they make my MiniMe FireWire capable. Youre so lucky to get more than 48/24. 8)

To answer Splinter, yes the Rosetta 200 is AD-DA at the same time.

dwood, I use low priority, buffer 512, host buffer multiplier x1, and record at 4800/24.

I was using the 828mkll as an interface but am now using it mostly as a doorstop since I got the Roesetta 200. I layer acoustic/electric guitars, bass, and vocals one at at time so it works for me that way. I only use the 828 when I have a drummer come in and play a drum Kat and I record his samples and MIDI. I will run the snare and kick through the rosetta and the other drums through the 828.

I mix ITB so all I need is the Rosetta and it works great for me.

Thanks for the response. I couldn't tell from Apogee's info if I could use it as my main D/A while recording through it for an A/D. This makes this device much more appealing. I'd also use it as a master clock. I can't envision getting the FW card for it though and would probably connect it via lightpipe to my 2408III, which, with my Digimax, gives me 18 inputs. Much more than I usually need.

So how does it sound? Is it up there with the AD-16X and Rosetta 800?

Splinter,
I use the Rosetta 200 as main in and out via s/pdif with my 828Mk2 - the sound quality is superb. The extra facilities offered by the Coda Audio Finishing Module make this piece great value. I've not looked at the X card option at this time.

I use a roseta800 with the x-firewire card and it works great, no problems on 10.4.2.
