Doesn't this change the tempo for the entire song? What if I want to align notes to something that's not on the grid or beat? And it would be so fast doing things like that if it was possible to snap to beats (within soundbites) for example. Or am I missing something here?

1) Drag and drop import of audio tracks (auto add track).

2) Beat Detection Engine, such a beautiful tool, please make it a bit more nice to work with.

3) [?] Honestly, I did not check if there is an existing key command for that,
but I find the zooming rules, while working with pitch correction and MIDI notes a little bit confusing. I would love the actual MIDI events to get bigger and smaller with the regular short cut. I know it works with the help of the magnifier bar to the left, but that just came to my mind, late at night.

4) Definitely, stay MOTU.

Separate input and playback buffer settings.

Wouldn't that be a CoreAudio feature?

You may be right.

I should have said Separate buffer settings on record enabled tracks, which may be even more impossible.

Just trying to get to the point where we have direct hardware play-through type options within the DP software, without resorting to another application.

How about input monitor on VI audio tracks while still monitoring everything else through hardware. Gets rid of all that messy aux stuff when you're in the habit of printing everything.

Though DP already does this, it's behavior is a bit unconventional for OSX. I'm much more accustomed to dropping files inside whatever file repository window a program has. In DP, you drop files right onto the DP icon itself, and they will be loaded in whatever project you have open. This is really slick, especially because it means dragging down to the dock. However, I always forget since all my other programs require dragging into and actual window. I would recommend that MOTU add the ability to drag files into the soundbytes window, on top of the current method. Not a huge request, but I can understand why some people might not think that DP allows dragon drop at all.

I haven't checked recently, but doesn't DP still support dragging audio directly onto the Tracks Overview Window? I can even drag MP3's onto the TO Window, and it will convert them while creating a track and adding them to the window. At least… last time I tried it I could still do that.

I miss those 3 buttons, too. I also use the Event List window often.
I liked the Control Panel that I believe started back in 3.0. I still miss it.
I really miss the Position Bar. It was a really nice visual indicator, especially when playing live.
I suppose I'm gonna catch flak, be called a dinosaur, etc., but heck, ya like what ya like.

Yep, I do it that way all the time. If you don't want to create a new track automatically, just drag it to the soundbites window.

Wait, last time I tried that, it didn't work. What gives? I always try dragging into the soundbites window, and I don't get anything.

It would be nice to be able to merge soundbites from wherever you select instead of from the beginning and ends of soundbites. Especially when merging tracks for some other program and I want to merge all tracks from zero. Even better, a preference fir both methods.
