Can't monitor effects in Real-Time

Post by princezulu »

Hi all,

I'm using DP 7.2 and an Apogee Duet into a Macbook Pro. My issue is that I cannot seem to record guitar tracks while hearing the effect plug-in I have chosen. I can hear the guitar signal just fine, but not the effect. I have selected 'monitor through effects' and the option direct hardware playthrough is eternally greyed out and isn't an option to select.

Could some who uses the same set up perhaps respond with their configuration for me to copy? I'm not sure if I issue is in DP or the Duet?

Thanks so much.

Reading the getting started guide that came with DP would very useful.

You don't think I've done that?
I've been a DP user since version 2.6 and I've never had this issue before. I've just switched from an 828 MK II to the Duet - and onto 7.2, so I'm lost as to what the issue is. I've always been able to record and monitor effects at the same time before.
No amount of 'RTFM' has been able to throw light on it.
Thanks.

Yes I know :D Hence why I've added the welcome.

I get a bit protective about DP sometimes... Didn't mean to upset the poster.
