Uvix isn't importing Intakt format?

Post by sdfalk »

I've had no ther problems with any other format, just from Intakt.
UV seem to recognize That they are there, but can't "see" the
samples.
No keymaps, nuthin.
Any suggestions?

not quite certain of what you mean...

do you mean that when you fire up UVI and navigate to the folder/disk with Intakt samples, they don't appear in the browser?

-you have clicked on the '.nki' tab in UVI, right?

give a little more info and we'll see if we can figure this out.

Yes I guess I didn't explain that to well.
I have clicked on the nki tab, navigated to the samples, and what
shows up is the names of the samples but when I select the
sample itself (drumloop 1 for example) nothing shows up
in the key map zone or the sample display..empty.
So when i try to save them as MachFIve samples I just get
nothing.
Is that a bit better? :)

I am not familiar with Intakt from my own use, other than Altered States, but it could be that the format is locked. I have Altered States (which uses the Intakt engine) and I know that I can't import those into M5.

Maybe you should have a quick look on NI's site to confirm, but I think that might be the problem.

Does it make any difference which Intakt library you try to access?

I took a run at the Ni site and sisn't find any info about the Intakt
format being locked or not.
If anyone else finds anything please post.

Thanks

well, I had a look on NI's site and couldn't find anything out about the copy protection, but I think that might be the issue you are dealing with.

I would suggest e-mailing NI to ask them what the deal is, that way you should get a definative answer. I didn't trawl thru their forums, but that might be a source too.

Don't forget kvr.com - they have pretty active forums there too.

Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

The "Powered by N.I." monolithic files, such as Intakt, Kompakt etc. are all closed formats.. so this has nothing to do with MachFive.

Yes I know.
I'm talking about the application that comes with MachFive UVI Extract.
It appears it has a facility to translate
NI products like INtakt but only worked partially.
That was my point
