I didn't check DP, but am fairly sure Amplidude has been demonstrating his programming prowess in creating a "Wish it Were Like This" image in his lead-off post for us all to ponder... and I am up way too late, given the time change. Good night!

Yes... it's a mock-up of what the pref screen would look like.

I thought my little joke might underscore that, but it may have been too subtle.
On the other hand, A-Dude's mockup was real-looking enough that I'm liable to have memories of its being there, and start advising people to USE the feature!

A useful good option to add. I generally disable audible mode, just cause of the MIDI notes scrubbing behaviour.

That graphic was created by me. If anyone goes to that preference pane, you will see that it does not currently exist. I guess I need to not assume that everyone knows what the preferences currently look like.Frodo wrote:I'd like to understand what's happening here a bit better. Sure, it appears that you can uncheck that option, but I don't think the OP's question was quite as simple-- or was it?
Could there be some combo of things happening with scrubbing and event chasing which might have uncovered a genuine workflow concern for the OP?
Granted, I'd be just fine to learn that there really is no problem at all, but I can't always tell if the "+1s" are for the OP's request or from the notion of unchecking the DP preference as the solution.

.
I almost never scrub the wiper anymore. I had to find better ways to move around the sequences, but I suppose the reason I don't do it is precisely because of the annoyance of the blasting MIDI notes.
So I also give this a big +1 too.

How about a default volume slider for MIDI during scrub instead of just "on" or "off". Just like the click track volume slider. 0 would = "off" of course.

AHA! I don't have DP7 yet. Your mockup photo looked pretty genuine! Then again, for someone who has been doing such clever GUI mods, I shouldn't have expected any less. However, without DP7 in house I had nothing to compare it to but to the prefs in DP5 and DP6.amplidood wrote:That graphic was created by me. I did have a gut feeling that I'd missed something, though, and I greatly appreciate the clarification.
Therefore, let me just add:

That's a great idea, but it's been a problem for so long I just got used to my work around. I just turn on solo mode before wiping (my sequence that is
). It's just a quick key command, and it turns off all of my MIDI.
