that sounds very good, so I think I´ll gonna order the upgrade today

one more thing .. is it possible to make numerical edits in a tdm-plug window (f.e. digi eq) ?
that was broken in DP6, but only with tdm plugs, with rtas-plugs there was no problem

thanks again
My rig is tied up with an install at the moment. But, later when I pull up a session I'l check that for you.
I did try the numerical edit in the digi EQ, and it's still not working in TDM. I hadn't even noticed it till you mentioned it. I guess I'm more of a mouse guy.

thank you so much

I was afraid that this one still isn´t fixed, since I´ve never got a respond to my techlink

(by the way ... same as with all other techlinks I´ve sent to motu. Oh no, that´s not true - there was one of about 10 techlinks which has been answered within 1 year, but only with the message 'resolved', without any solution - cool)

there´s one other thing I remember - do you use the fx-pansion vst to rtas wrapper ? If yes, then please try to save a setting. this wasn´t possible in DP6 (I have a feeling that isn´t fixed too)

Forgive me if thais has been stated already, but does does DP7 work in DAE mode using PT8.0 and HD hardware?
I have tried DP 5.13 in this way and it does not seem to work at all and I've heard from several people that DP 6 does not work this way either. I have been a long time DP and PT user and switched to PT8 far various reasons. It works great but I do miss some things in DP that have to do with scoring. It would be nice to switch between the two as I have a rather large HD system and would like to keep using it. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes, in DP7 we can now use PT7 and PT8 HD both. I have it up and running on 10.4.11 with PT7.4 and on 10.5.8 with PT8 (latest cs3 version, but not the pre-release SL version)

DP6 was completely unusable with DAE. Until now, I've been on DP5.13, PT7.4 and 10.4.11.

I do use the fx wrapper, I'll give that try and let you know.

So far every thing's running great... one possible bug I encountered.

In 5.13, When I select multiple tracks, in tracks overview, shift clicking on the track name, on the left side of the overview window would deselect that specific track, while leaving the others selected. DP7 isn't doing that..

So far, the only way for me in DP7 to deselect a specific track, while leaving the others selected, is to shift and highlight each MIDI or audio track on the right side of the tracks overview pane. Which is a bit of a pain when your editing, and moving big blocks of MIDI tracks around.

is this just a preference option I've overlooked, or a bug??

Try it with the cmnd key instead of the shift key. I get so confused now with what key works where.

Thanks very much! this is exactly the info I was looking for. That is how I would be using it as well 10.5.8, PT8.0cs3

So no support for surround busses?

I don't think so (I haven't tried it because I have no need for surround) but I say this because I had the surround mixer plug in my DAE folder when I first launched DP7 (I use the surround in PT8 even though I only use stereo because I like the pan law better) and I kept getting the same DAE error every time I tried to change an audio track input or output. Then I remembered that I had the surround mixer plug in, changed that out to the dithered stereo mixer plug and all was good.

If it's not working, this would be a good feature to request from MOTU. They finally got a pretty good grip on DAE once again. Let's keep them going.

I can tell already that PT people are starting to take a new interest in DP7. With Logic having so many issues with DAE 8 because it's a feakin mess, it wouldn't surprise me if people with Digi hardware and extensive MIDI needs start picking up DP instead.
If MOTU can keep on top of the DAE, I'm willing to bet they would gain a lot of new users.

OK, I loaded an eq and tried to save using the top menu (DP's) and got a DAE error. But when I tried to save using the lower menu (at the bottom) which I believe this menu ties to the VST in wrapper?? Anyway, it worked. I could save a preset. It would then show up at the top preset window, but if I clicked there, it would give me the DAE error. But, then if I tried to load it from the bottom menu, it loaded fine. So, if you use the bottom menu, the presets work. If you use the top menu - DP's regular menu, they don't.

thanks for taking the time to test this - what would we do without you tripit ??

I`ve thought that they haven´t fixed this - yes, the load/save menu of the wrapper works but settings saved there cannot be dragged from the finder on a mixer plug-slot and this is something I permanently do (much more faster than hanging through folder hierarchies)

but I have the hope that Motu one day will fix this issues, since a overall good working DP7/DAE will get more attention from frustrated PT HD MIDI-users

at the moment not

I only work with one machine, so the benefits of VE in a network don´t matter for me (at least now) and if I need a VI-rack I use NI Kore 2 or bidule

here´s my first DP/DAE report

received a working DP installer-disc today after the first one was broken ...

installed DP under 10.5.8 and PT 8.01 on a PPC G5 Quad

DP starts with DAE loaded, but after instanciating a VI and hitting play DP crashes

I tried all, trashed prefs, repaired permission and so on and so on ... even with nearly all plugs deactivated and only one VI remaining (Virus TDM) the crash still occurs

on another boot-partition I have Tiger 10.4.11 with PT 7.2 installed, there DP7 doesn´t show the play-crash, BUT - I tried to open some older projects, from 3 projects DP crashed after loading on 2 of them, DP6 opens them without crashing

Is anyone running DP7 under Leopard and PT8 on a PPC machine ?

BTW ... in MAS-mode under Leopard DP crashes immedialtely after plugin scan
