Where do these patch names come from (where are they defined)? If they are defined by what I've chosen in Audio MIDI Setup, then where does Audio MIDI Setup get them? Are they in a file somewhere?

Thanks

I'm on my iPod so I cannot give great detail, but the data is in a 'midnam' file as I recall. It is editable using the cherrypicker app. I believe the factory names are in the MIDI driver files from MOTU but perhaps are in the Apple CoreMIDI info.soniq2 wrote:In the Tracks window, if I select the OUTPUT column, I'm presented with a list of devices that, I'm assuming are taken from Audio MIDI setup. If I then click the DEFAULT PATCH column, I'm presented with a list of the names of patches defined for that device that I've selected for that OUTPUT.

There is a Unisyn forum on this board. Unisyn edits and keeps a database of hardware synth patches, but only if there is a profile of that synth included with the app. A list of included synth profiles is available form MOTU. CherryPicker only edits the .midnam files.soniq2 wrote:Thanks again MIDI,
I've never heard of Unisyn before. How does this app differ from CherryPicker?
