6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
6.02 is defaulting to aiff files instead of sdII when starting a new project on my machine, even when audio file new project prefs are set to sdII. its fine once i manually change the format from aiff to sdII in the project once created (it stays in sdII after that) but having to manually set this each time i start a new project is less than ideal.
trying to figure out if anyone else is having this problem... start a new project and see what happens.
im on a ppc dual 2.0 running 10.5.6
thx

I think you can set the default Audio formats in the DP Preferences...........

I'm not having that problem here. Mine are bwav, just as the new and current projects are set.
That's a weird problem. It must be a stuck preference file, though I don't know which one you should trash.

Obvious qestion, KS:
Have you tried re-saving your "new file template/s" after altering the prefs and then quitting DP?

Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
yeah, tried that. when opening a new project, the default files for "new project" are still sdII but the format for "this project" is aiff. doesnt seem to matter what i try, having to set file pref for every new project manually. strange.
nobody else having this problem, PPC especially? just want to make sure before i start in on the computer...
thx

Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
I'm having the exact same problem. Once I change the Project format it sticks after a save---but all new projects just open up with AIFF, no matter what the overall default is set to. Definately a bug.... I can re-create it with 10 new templates I made.

Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
If you had it set to AIFF when you created the templates, and maybe you didn't, isn't that what you'd expect if you are creating new projects from templates? I.e., couldn't new projects from templates take on the forma tpref for existing projects?slicerecords wrote:I'm having the exact same problem. Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
ok, so thats one other machine that this is happening on. this has felt like a bug from the second i noticed it (and had to change a bunch of aiffs to sdIIs) but i dont want to make a big deal out of it if its only happening to a couple of us.
some more of you might want to test it out; recording as aiffs isnt the end of the world but we all know dp likes the sdIIs and ill bet youd rather record in the format you prefer...

My thinking exactly, KS.
Best we await further data; it's early days. The thread title should make it easy for folks to find and report in on this. It might be worth adding the words, "Please Report" to it though IMHO.

Just to let you know I'm having the same exact problem on an Intel machine.

Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
Same problem here with my Mac Pro 3.2 (10.5.6) and the AIFF default (I set the preferences in my template to WAV). Also, the MIDI outputs for my VIs in my templates are not showing up. Multiple MIDI outs for RMX and Omnisphere, for example, show up italicized and only as MIDI channel 1.

Re: 6.02 defaulting to aiff files?
surely a bug, and it makes sense because this is an area they changed slightly with the 6.02 update, must have missed something. I just have to remember to change my project default to BWAV when I start a new project.
