Re: DP 6.02 is up
Yep, Stillwell stuff I have in 'evaluation' mode can't be more than a few weeks downloaded, and not adjustable in 6.02. The Schwa plugs I've tried do appear to be adjustable. I was on my way to deciding to purchase these too.....

Some thoughts on the Stillwell issue,
- I see some of you having G5 (PPC) computer, maybe a reason for the problem?
- In my pref, I have "Run all the plugins in real time" mode
- In the studio setting, I have uncheck the pre-fill buffer for quick start.
BTW, I have never changed the GUI in DP, I alway use the original GUI.

Re: DP 6.02 is up
stillwells never worked for me in 6.01. they would leave "stuck" graphic GUIs all over the place. was hoping that would be fixed in 02, but looks like it's worse now.
kassonica wrote:Yep they worked in 6.01superjeezus wrote:Confirmed. Friggin 6.02 broke all my Stillwell Plugs.kassonica wrote:Seems all good here and a tad snappier (really) BUT.....
The stillwell plugin (1073) doesn't seem to working, can't adjust the Eq knobs.
Can someone check whether it's working on your end...![]()
(Ending this post now before I totally fly off the handle. It's a good thing I cloned my system before I installed 6.02. Now, I can go back to 6.01, which doesn't work either!)

To clarify: Stillwell plugs definitely worked in 6.01.

For anyone who is wondering what "Stillwell" is:

I've got the Rocket Compressor all over a bunch of projects now. So now move up for
me until Scott or MOTU get this sorted out.

Re: DP 6.02 is up
I've barely used 6.01, and only on the MBP. I do remember a few times Stillwell plugs left GUI garbage under my consolidated window. I've only looked at 6.02 on the MBP. No idea on the PPC yet; Stillwell working fine in 5.13 there. Looks like Stillwell plugs set up in earlier version load and run correctly in 6.02, just can't change them.
I've not messed with it, but assume since 6, 6.01, and 6.02 all show up as separates in the applications folder that you can use whichever you like. That seems a change from pre-6 installations.

I emailed scott at stillwell to let them know..
Got an email back saying they'll fix it at soon as they can.. Might not be immediately though...

Actually, reading the response from the Stillwell developer above, I do sympathize with him. It is not much fun to have to create an update to software that you thought was going to continue working well for your customers. And even if the MOTU specs are now correct, it is likely that this developer programmed the plugin to make it work with previous versions of DP where the specs were not properly followed. I believe a lot of developers have had to jump through a few hoops to make things perform properly in DP.
But I see some sun breaking through the clouds!

Re: DP 6.02 is up
I've exchanged emails with Scott last night and this morning as well as contacts at MOTU and Scott is on the case and MOTU has said they'll lend him a hand with advice on the issue. I get the idea that a fix won't be too long in coming. Scott is truly awesome about how he responds to we DP users.David Polich wrote:For anyone who is wondering what "Stillwell" is:

Re: DP 6.02 is up
Not all that helpful I guess (until there's a fix) but if you do have an AlphaTrack you can use that to control the knobs in the meantime. If you don't have an AT or other control surface than I realize that's not of much help.superjeezus wrote:1 - Stillwell plugs don't work (can't turn the knobs). Worked in 6.01

Re: DP 6.02 is up
If the Euphonix has the ability to adjust parameters of a plug-in on an insert (like AT does) than there's a good chance that until Stillwell has a fix, you can adjust parameters that way. I don't know if Rocket has any "MIDI learn" capability, because that might also work. Seems like anything that bypasses the GUI will work okay.superjeezus wrote:That is a good suggestion.James Steele wrote: Not all that helpful I guess (until there's a fix) but if you do have an AlphaTrack you can use that to control the knobs in the meantime.I don't have an Alpha track...I don't think I will add one, I'm getting tired of adding more variables to the mix. Every company seems to have their problems; I am hoping to freeze my systems pretty soon, as long as I can get a stable configuration going. I do have the Euphonix controllers, I wonder if there's something I could figure out there.....

Re: DP 6.02 is up
Yep, it works--sweet! I don't know why I didn't think to try that...I modify other plugs that way all the time. I guess when I couldn't turn the knobs with the mouse I just gave up. Let that be a lesson to me.James Steele wrote: If the Euphonix has the ability to adjust parameters of a plug-in on an insert (like AT does) than there's a good chance that until Stillwell has a fix, you can adjust parameters that way. Funny thing, the knobs turn on the screen when controlled with the MC Control. Just can't budge them with the mouse.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: DP 6.02 is up
Yeah... glad that worked for you. I discovered this little trick with my AlphaTrack when the UAD knobs were squirrelly in DP 6.0. It's not a perfect solution obviously and yes, the knobs will animate on screen... the problem really comes when you try and operate the controls with the mouse.superjeezus wrote:Yep, it works--sweet!
