This install provides compatibility updates for Mac Intel processors, OS 10.5, and is compatible with OSX versions back to OSX 10.4.x.

Installer contains a driver update for the MOTU 828, 896, 828mk2, 828mk2 USB, 896HD, Traveler, UltraLite, 8pre, 828mk3, 896mk3, UltraLite mk3 and Traveler mk3. Cuemix console supports external control surfaces, talkback & listenback capabilities, and I/O port names.

Any takers?

i've installed this a few times but i have yet to experience cuemix the way that it is described in the pdf... or with 8 busses instead of 4 as was explained when they unveiled the motu traveler mk3. where is the FFT AND SPECTROGRAM DISPLAY that was mentioned in the addendum? is this not the update that was promised and if so, why would they attach the pdf addendum with features it doesn't have?

an original traveler. i wasn't expecting the mk3 specific features obviously... but according to their site and an overview from CDM, it appeared that some of these features would be compatible with the original traveler/ultralite/828 ect.

I really haven't tried doing anything more with Cuemix FX on my 828mII than I did with the old Cuemix, but I think the upgrade when used on older units is mostly just a different GUI. Aren't most functions pretty much the same? Maybe someone else can fill us in.

hmmm, i would think that the cuemix features that do not rely on new hardware (basically everything but the effects) should be a feature of the new cuemix software, not an extension of the new hardware.

from CDM Traveler MK3 review: "If you own another MOTU unit, you’ll be relieved to know the CueMix software features will be available for download on other FireWire audio interfaces."

I want the M-S routing feature and the extra 4 busses and the spectrogram and the FFT display. Pretty please?

Actually, I think this is version 1.4.8. It has the exact same file size and release date of 1.4.8. This isn't the first time VT has screwed up MOTU releases. Does anyone know how to tell what is the driver package version without actually installing it?

If that's what the review says, then it's wrong.

M-S matrixing and the additional four mix buses are a feature of the hardware, not the CueMix FX software. The spectrogram and FFT analysis are CueMix FX software features, but it makes sense that MOTU would make then compatible only with the new line of FireWire interfaces. They need to create reasons for owners of older interfaces (such as the original Traveler) to upgrade to newer ones.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.
