I thought there was something screwy about that control.

Ditto! Except for having to relearn a bit of GUI it seems to be running well. The Audio Unit Info Cache thing does need to be fixed, but replacing it with the DP 5 version works to get my plugs all working. I just hope it doesn't create a conflict in the updated version of that file.

Shooshie steps up to the plate to take one for the team. Thank you, Shoosh.

It sure would be nice to know what the deal is here; if nothing else, it'll provide us with both the comfort of knowing why DP6 was so "glitchy" for many, and the convenience of a justification (as opposed to gropes in the dark) in the shape of the simple line: "It was a Cocoa rewrite".

I have to bring this up. The response control in a physical LA-2A is not a notch filter. It's a variable high pass filter which can be entirely negated by the setting. Originally conceived for radio broadcast pre/de-emphasis curves. Today good for removing bass pumping from the side chain, or attempting de-essing. Many accounts suggest de-essing is not very effective with an LA-2A because of time constants, but try it. The higher the HPF setting, the less compression you will get, so turning up the gain reduction setting will be necessary to maintain same limited level when comparing response settings.

Is this true of the MOTU version?
