scratchy console

Post by KarlSutton »

my 10 year old Ghost is starting to scratch on quite a few of the trim pots etc. the faders all seem pretty good still.

I've never done any upkeep to this board, what should I do to get these trims to stop scratching?

thanks

Call a tech in Nashville (that's where you live, right?) to look at it. That board is internally modular, so you have the ability to pull the circuits up on a channel basis. However, it might be best to have the tech come on-site or take it in. A good cleaning is all it needs, most likely. If that doesn't remove the scratching, try some sort of anti-itch cream!
Thank you,

Can something like Caig DeoxIT® be used here, Brad? I know it's great for jack connections...

Yes. I use Caig DeOxit on everything--jacks, faders, pots--and it's marvelous. Do not use too much... a little goes a long way.
