ok - managed to get Vista 64 service pack 1 installed.
But now if I start the computer with the 828mk2 on, or I turn it on once logged in, I instantly get a BSOD Driver_IRQ_Not_Less_or_Equal...
So I've actually taken a step backwards...
I am tearing my hair out.
Edit: it was Driver_IRQL_Not_Less_or_Equal.

I've enquired about this: http://www.mtechcomputers.com.au/produc ... ts_id=2644
Service Pack 1?
Has anyone else tried upgrading to Service Pack 1 for Vista 64 yet?
I have been speaking with HP support, and they've talked me through some diagnostics. After all that they said the computer and the operating system seem to be in perfect health - and the fact that I get the DRIVER IRQL error causing a BSOD suggests that the MOTUI driver is just not compatible with Service Pack 1.
I have just uninstalled SP1.
On restart I still get the instant BSOD. This is dire.

I am using SP1. It seems to work. No new issues with my motu. (Old issues still exist. But I havent had time to repeat experiment to see MIDI latency).
my set-up is described in an earlier post on this thread. I am using USB2 version, and am using the most recent driver from motu.
I used to get weird BSOD when restore from hibernation (before SP1) with the 828mkii. I haven't tried hibernating again since SP1 so don't know if that is fixed.

I just reinstalled the driver and have no BSOD. I am going to try again the SP1 upgrade tonight and reinstall the driver again afterwards to see if it helps.
Got to say though, that I am dangerously close to buying a Focusrite Saffire so that I can put this whole nasty experience behind me.
EDIT: Yep, reinstalling the drivers after upgrade to Vista 64-bit SP1 fixed the blue screen problem. The stuttering is also significantly better - though in only 30 seconds of play the click and squeal issue is still there.

Using Apple Mac Pro 4x 2.66ghz
6gb RAM
Vista X64
MOTU Traveler
Driver: 3.6.8.1
Im having MIDI problems. Stuck random notes and sometimes notes that dont play at all.
Also seems to be a sync problem. Get some dropped audio replaced by high pitched beeps.
Seems the MIDI problem has existed for a long time now and still they havnt managed to fix it. Me too thinking about selling it and replace it with something that actually works.

828 mk11 Vista 64 Not Handshaking
Greetings All,
My issue is mystifying.
The latest Vista 64bit drivers install without any apparent issue; and, after restart, 828mk11 connected and power up, Vista installs the drivers and the windows device manager confirms this.
The 828mk11 is recognised by the OS and indeed the drivers appear to be operational and installed for use by Windows. Cubase indeed loads the ASIO drivers - alas no audio is present !
Launching CueMix FX takes about ten seconds as it appears to search for the 828mk11 (when no other application is open). The device menu within CueMix FX indicates the 828mk11 is present; but making any changes within the application, such as routing etc., quickly defaults back to disabled !
The Audio console is able to change sample rate etc., which are confirmed on the MOTU front panel but the lack of Audio and the fact that CueMix is obviously NOT handshaking with the 828mk11, has me stumped. I checked the 828mk11 on a different computer - Windows XP 32bit system - and appears to be OK.
I suspect this is an issue caused by sloppily written 64 bit Windows drivers; and most probably causing headaches for many people. However, is there a solution ?

Re: Calling all Vista64 users (or wannabes)
I downloaded the latest 64-bit Vista FW USB drivers and tried them out with my MOTU 828 MKII in Vista 64-bit.
I can't get it to work reliably even though this same computer and hardware work reliably when I boot it into XP Pro SP3.
I've tried everything in Vista (i.e., disable UAC, disable Aero, disable firewall, etc). However, nothing makes it work reliably in Vista 64-bit.
This is bleeding edge technology so I'm not surprised.
