Hi there, I'm running DP5.13 on a Macbook. I have an 828mkII that I use at home, and I frequently bring my laptop to the studio where I work and use the Ultralight they have there.
I've noticed a strange clicking/crackling noise that recently recorded tracks frequently have, especially if I move them around the timeline, after they're recorded. This noise will happen regardless of what interface I'm using. I've factory reset the 828 and the Ultralight , and I've changed buffer parameters in DP. It is definitely not the source sounds. The noises also show up in bounce, which is troubling. However, every time I play over a soundfile(s) that frequently have noise like this, it's always different; which is to say it's not written in the soundfile, but happens randomly "on top of it".
Any help or insight would be appreciated, here is a link to a short clip I bounced that has the noise in it:

There have been so many posts of this kind, that I dare not even suggest a source of the noise. Do a search on pop, crackle, scratch, snap. or any other word you can think of to describe the noise and you'll probably find a discussion of it here. The worst part is that it doesn't look like there's one simple solution to the problem. I fixed mine, but my solution hasn't worked for others. Good luck.

I would also add the word "bounce" to your search criteria. You may get 1000+ results, but then the choice to peruse or not to peruse hinges on the urgency of the problem.
Don't know if any of these will help. For the longer threads it's important to read them thoroughly as other users gradually fold in with symptoms and solutions that might more closely match your needs.

Not enough RAM can be a problem, especially since the display shares RAM with everything else on the MacBook.
Another downside to the MacBooks, if I recall, is that they do not have card slots. Generall, a card slot bus would free up the regular firewire bus otherwise.
Try disabling your firewire devices and opt for bouncing with Built-In, if possible-- just to see if the clicks go away. Since you're bouncing, having an 828 and an Ultralight connected might not be necessary, but it's important to isolate the problem by isolating the hardware. Add one device back at a time to see if it interferes.
Try freezing your tracks first, then bouncing the freezes.
YMMV.
