This can be found at www.motu.com on the Downloads page under the Firewire Software link.

Hopefully this should fix the 1.10 volume jumping issues!
What does the firmware upgrade actually do? :?:

I just upgraded my Ultralite to 1.15, and now on occasion I get crazy noise coming out of it in lieu of the sound that's supposed to be there.

I'd say that unless there's something terribly wrong you must try fixing, LEAVE IT ALONE! These firmware upgrades are bad!

If anyone can give me a downgrade to firmware v 1.00 I'd be appreciative.

I'm a windows user, but if all that is available is a mac version, I can borrow a friend's laptop to do it.

My e-mail is jdlien (at) fullspec dot ca

Thanks

Just thought I'd mention that yesterday I with vers. 1.00 my ultralite suddenly couldn't record anything, with loude noise coming into inputs 7&8. My last resort was upgrading the firmware, so I'm glad to say not only did the firmware upgrade not screw up my ultralite, it even fixed the problem. Let's just hope it stays that way.

Just thought I'd pass along the problems I've had with my Ultralite since doing the firmware upgrade. I don't know if any of these are considered "normal" under the circumstances... I mainly use this soundcard as an output for DJ software called VirtualDJ, and I've tried it on two separate computers Tank, my actual system at the club, and Behemoth, my workstation at home. Things are far worse on the home computer, but I've had a fair number of issues at the club too.
  • When I'm playing in VirtualDJ, and I play music using the wav driver on the same channel (i.e. through foobar2000) the sound is very distorted on bassbeats and stuff (from everything)
  • Occasionally under very plain, normal operation (i.e. just leaving VirtualDJ on automix and not touching anything afterwards) the sound will instantly change to an extremely high intensity digital noise that could easily damage amplified speakers. This is the most scary problem of all! Fortunately, I've never experienced this exact problem on Tank (P965)
  • After a while playing in VirtualDJ, the sometimes music stops and all the output channels go crazy with cracking and noise until I stop VirtualDJ. This mainly happens on Behemoth (MSI P6N Diamond with NForce 680i) but has also happened at least once on Tank (Asus P5B-E with Intel P965)
  • Audio glitches out during UAC elevation prompt (perhaps it's the secure desktop?)
  • Once when using foobar as a backup, virtualDJ went wonky, so I was playing music (on a different channel) from foobar2000. When I shut down virtualDJ, the audio stopped completely. Very embarrassing...
For over a week I've been through various troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures with MOTU which don't seem to have made any difference, so it seems that the only option is to send it back to MOTU, and pay them $80 to have it repaired. Seems a little steep to me. The thing was purchased a year ago to the day that the support tech suggested sending it for RMA.

That really sucks supacon. FWIW, I use mine with a MacBook Pro and never use the power supply that came with it, FW cable only. Did you update using windows? I don't really trust motu stuff on windows, though I've been able to use mine without any hitch. But if you can downgrade or reinstall with your friends mac you should definitely do it.
