What's with you all? Awful - precision crafted garbled noise. Baffled by all the positively inquisitive comments of the sound of America going to the dogs, I truly feel sorry for you.

I can't find anything else to add, sorry - Alix

yeah... i'm just a dirty american dog, but i'm a dirty american dog with the nuts to post my mixes for the members of this forum to either enjoy, critique, or ignore. you did none of those, you just got nasty....

so, which of us is truly the more pitiable?

Same old ••••, but good one :D

TH was the best song (for my taste). I would lower vocals a bit, but that's just my personal opinion. Liked the big guitar wall. This kind of aggressiveness makes me feel good.

Alix- get a life.

James- nice work. Just listened to TH, the vocalist sounds like he might take a couple cues from Lamb of God, perhaps? Overall the mix sounded pretty close, but listening on KRK V8's the kick didn't seem *quite* full enough on the bottom, and the cymbals and guitar might have been eq'd just a hair high for my personal tastes, but overall your mix sounds great for what's going on. Keep it up.

Not a big fan of metal this hardcore, but it sounds pretty darn good to me!

I keep forgetting why I left my native Europe for the US 15 years ago, and then I read a hare-brained, narrow-minded post like this, and I remember...

Seeing as how I've already passed through puberty and joined "the establishment", this music isn't exactly my cup o' tea. But listening to it does make me want to off my parents and entire high school class, so mission accomplished, eh?

But, mostly I admire the courage of any of you who use your real name and put your work up for the pipsqueaks like me to critque.

James - Im a 41 year old Blues guy who grew up listening to everything from the Beatles to Led Zep to Hank WIlliams and Glenn Miller.

I choose to play Blues and Oldies because I feel that I know that music best. However, one of my favorite "recent" bands is 311. I don't know too many 41 year olds who have even heard of 311, let alone would sit through a CD of their music. I can appreciate the musicianship and production... and hell, the tunes are catchy too.

The point of my post?? Your recordings sound exactly the way they should - Kick a$$ and angry. While I may not love the "message", I appreciate the production value - Which I think is where you want the critique, right?

My only production critique is that I would personally like a bit more bottom. Kick or bass guitar. Thats it. It sounds good, the way it should.

You have sold me on DP. This is my style of music and if I can get this kind of sound from DP then I can die a happy man. Great mixing, missing something I cant put my finger on... TH sounds right but O sounds off somehow. Amazing work none the less. Thanks for giving me even more reason to tingle with the thought of getting my hands on DP.

James, you're right, there was a bit of venom (the non lethal kind) in my comments and it was intended, because I felt I "had to" react in such a way. It is directly related to my perception of the state of this "big world" as it stands today and where it is headed to in the near future and I find something in your music indicative and revealing about my concerns. Or you could easily brush my words off as just a bunch of hot air coming from a deeply freaked out individual - hey that's cool too, I'm also a completely crazy musician-family-man bringing up a bunch of teenage kids who's been dabbling with all sorts of music for over forty years - See here and be aware of the dangers of the profession! One can completely loose one's marbles, I certainly did at times.

I apologize for having offended you as well others here who truly identify themselves in this type of music. What I wrote was not the kind of reaction you were seeking and I should have known better. On top of that I certainly do not have the right to feel sorry because it is your own conscientious choice to create such music to the best of your ability and there is a lot of it there. I should not have said that (my feeling sorry) for it reflects a lack of respect, and that was definitely not what I intented, so, once again please accept my apologies.

But I did try to wake everybody up in order to become aware of the vibes and nature of the sounds, message you're sending out into this universe!

Listening to your music did something to me (most probably confused me) - I was affected by it and a bit distressed, otherwise I would not have reacted at all. It is because the music is so well crafted that I had to say something, give an opinion, pass a judgement, and that's where I went too far, I admit.

I admit the shortcomings in my own capacity to "objectively think" about the content of the artform presented here. However, generally whilst listening to music, I always try to stay in touch with my feelings - I can't help but to feel a certain way during and after listening to your tunes, today as well as yesterday. What I wrote yesterday was honest and sincere - perhaps not the type of comment you were expecting to read - and it was perhaps not even the type of comment I was expecting to write, but I did anyway because through your tunes I certainly became aware of the craftmanship involved but I was deeply disturbed by the fact so much effort was invested in order to suscitate and reflect specific moods and/or feelings - the sensations it brought to the surface were... anger, fear, claustrophobia, dissonance, angularity, darkness, machismo, pain, aggressiveness, domination, sadness, tunnel vision,.... in my opinion what was lacking was the soothing, elevating or feminine, the poetic - but then I guess it could perhaps be the intention, or then again my lack of awareness, I don't know - but I certainly do know what I felt; figuratively speaking "America going to the dogs"... the "whole world going to the dogs" what's the difference? Perhaps "America" needs to use louder amps and consume more energy drop bigger bombs in order to affirm itself and its diminishing cultural importance and meaning.... hey, this is only a thought an opinion... heavy-metal as well as quantum physics were invented in Europe, remember?

In the future I shall try to avoid "politically" incorrect statements in this forum because I now realise it definitely does more evil than good - but that which was said was said, indeed, so now I'll sign off and get a life as suggested... and Kubi, let me tell you I've grown up and lived over thirty years (all over) in the United States and still regularly visit family there but have come to prefer to live here - so you see it takes all kinds to fill and create a world full of meaning, beauty and peace and, we're all standing in the middle of it! Right?

Let's all get back to being creative, I wish you all well...

Straight ahead, Alix
