Seems they're interchangeable, too.

What are your VSL issues. I have had some problems with the volume slider, right side of keyboard messing with automation presets.mhschmieder wrote:OK, I'm going to dare to give it a go, now that I'm sufficiently caught up in my most immediate backlogged tasks. There's never a good time, but this is a better time than any time that has presented itself in the past couple of months, and I'm also anxious to see if it "magically" clears up my Powercore Firewire issues.
It will be icing on the cake if 10.4.10 also improves Vienna Instruments flakiness, and a couple of oddities with Ozone and Altiverb. I don't expect it to improve BIAS Peak Pro as I look at those crash logs regularly and it's clearly Peak's fault and not Apple's as all the logs are due to C++ memory allocation cleanup negligence within the Peak app itself.
Hopefully Apple has gotten Audio MIDI Setup stable again so it no longer crashes. A minor annoyance most of the time, but it often slows down a session when I have to relink all my external devices to the Fireface (actually, it's possible this is a Fireface issue and not an Apple bug, so I also look forward to seeing whether the Fireface behaves better in general under 10.4.10, as there are several Fireface related issues in 10.4.9).
Don't know. I asked that same question a couple of days ago and got no response. I installed x.4.x and DP5.12 on a partition this Saturday and mixed all day Sunday with no problems. One day isn't a fair test, but at least it's good so far. Also it was only mixing (no tracking) and all audio (no VIs). That's all I have so far.jeronimo wrote:so what is the final word on 10.4.10 and 5.12?
I'm on 10.4.8 and 5.11 and afraid of moving ahead...
Does Vienna misbehave if the AMS is not running? Sounds like a "clock fight" of sorts is at issue.mhschmieder wrote:.... Vienna Instruments comes up in 192k mode and forces me to reset to 44.1k manually in AMS; AMS crashes constantly after just connecting one or two devices with the drag-lines;..
