Anyone know exactly what the new version driver actually updates ? I am assuming it allows for proper detection of the new 8PRE Motu hardware.......Anybody else have more info ?

If MOTU follow standard versioning conventions, there will be no functionality changes at all for a minor subrevision change.edwardb wrote:Anyone know exactly what the new version driver actually updates ? I talked to MOTU support because the new driver would not install on any non-english Windows XP. (That they admitted - however no fix so far.) The more important information is that it wouldn't do anything for me with my 828mkII anyways. The only improvement is for some newer MOTU device (I forgot which one - sorry). So don't bother. Release Notes are for wimps....

Not at all
The latest driver of PCI-324 (Windows XP Pro version) doesn't fix the issue of ADAT I/O not showing in Motu Audio Console.
I really don't understand how is this possible. I was using an old version of driver, and it was ok. I re-installed my computer but couldn't find the former driver I was using. So, I downloaded the new one. I lost all I/O.
It looks like the PCi-324 is no more able to see my 2408 module.
Does someone have the version before the latest one (3.64)?
Maybe it is my 2408 that is dead (at least the 1394 connection). Is this possible? How can I check that data are going through?
Thanks to anyone who will help

From what i understand there is no difference for 828 users. The new drivers were revised to incorporate drivers for the ultralite and whatever else is new (8pre??). Personally the new drivers crashed my system (i have an 828 MKII). 3.5.3.2 drivers seem to work best for myself and many others. There doesnt really seem to be any need to get these drivers unless you have a new MOTU product.

Hi fnord,
I am wondering how you made it. What do you mean by "switching off/on adat"?
Here is my config:
- Motu PCI-324 inside a PC with Windows XP Pro SP2
- Motu 2408
- Alesis ADAT LX 20
- Yamaha 01V
I have installed and re-installed so many times, I am really tired with this.
Sometimes I get the message "Wave Driver for PCI-324 'This device cannot start (code 10)" when I review devices in Windows device manager
Do you know is going on, did you face same issues such as this one?
You are talking about driver version 3.5 - Could you provide me with that version, maybe by e-mail?
Thanks in advance
Paul
