Re: Random Clicking. - **Likely** solved
I thought problem was buffer/disk settings in hardware setup or studio size but likely not. Was likely some kind of timing issue. HDD setup was: - AudioDesk + OS: SCSI HDD's via E100 Ultra SCSI PCI card, slot 1. - scratch disk: 2 ATA drives, RAID 0, via Sonnet PCI ATA card, slot 2 Clicks due to one/...

Re: Mic Pre S/PDIF Work with Mk1 2408?
Thanks Radiogal and Billy. Seems it should work with my Mk1 2408/324. But... even w/Cuemix, 324 latency seems higher than hoped and can't trust that pops/clicks won't crop up again, computer/OS is old (wah wah wah) so.... Seems I need to upgrade. I wonder if fastest G4/early G5 + Reaper + 10.4 would...

Random Clicking. - Have searched :)
Hi all. I'll try to be brief :) Pretty sure AudioDesk is basically the audio DAW portion of DP, so posted here. DAW: AD 1.02, 2408 Mk1, 324-PCI, all latest drivers, Mac OS9 G3 500. App. and audio data on separate drives. I know it's an old rig but it should be ok for: transferring cassette audio to ...

Mic Pre S/PDIF Work with Mk1 2408?
Hi all. Been a long time! Resurrected my old G3/os9, AudioDesk 1, 2408 Mk1. Current goal is to improve the signal path. (Besides. I really should return my friends ART MP ;) ) My understanding is that the Mk1 signal path from S/PDIF to HD is 24 bit. The 2408 is old and I don't know if there's been a...

Hey Tonio thanks for reply. Haved tried many things. -zapped PRAM -swapped PCI slots -disabled some or almost all extensions -tried term on/off -changed ID's etc. etc. It seems, fwiw to others viewing, that ATTO doesn't like 80 pin (SCA) to 68 pin adaptors. I have to use these on the Seagate 80 pin ...

ATTO ExpressPCI + SCA (80 pin) SCSI HDD question.
Greetings all. Am on budget, and...

Re: What's the best software configuration for two hard dri
I recently changed my DAW setup.
Orig. booted from SCSI drive containing OS/AudioDesk + audio files. Now boot from ATA drive containing OS/AudioDesk only, and write/read audio files to/from aforementioned SCSI drive.
Works much better.

Re: old and new drivers for pci 324 not working
Cannonball. May not be related, as I don't know what computer you're running, but try switching the PCI-324 card into another PCI slot. My Umax s900 (w/G3 upgrade) didn't play well with the card at first. Freezing on shutdown (!) etc. Upgrading to new drivers didn't help, so I took my s900 apart, ch...

Renting. Hmm....not a bad idea. I just assumed that no one would rent out a Neumann. I'll look into it.

Re: Which ver. DP best for G3 450 (umax s900) 324-PCI
Hey Wayne. This rig has the stock E100 card which is an ethernet/ultra scsi card. Don't recall the scsi throughput, but it is certainly more (up to 40 MB?) than the scsi bus on the logic board. Someday I'll graduate to a RAID setup as I have two Seagate scsi 9 gb drives I could use. Any reccomends o...

Opinons on Neumann TLM 193.
Hello people. New to this forum. Will be recording trombones (bass/tenor) and tubas (baritone sousaphone tuba) via a MOTU 2408 I/O system with Audiodesk. No preamp yet.... I know from pro experience that a U87 is great for trombone, but they are expensive. (duh!) Has anyone had experience using the ...

Awesome. More useful info! Dallas. Sorry I wasn't specific about my MOTU setup. I have on loan a complete MOTU 2408 system with: -MOTU 2408 I/O (RCA in/outs) -MOTU PCI-324 card -Audio wire -install cd (audiodesk, drivers etc) -Manuals I understand what you were getting at now. Thanks. :) Don T. I ha...

Re: Which ver. DP best for G3 450 (umax s900) 324-PCI
Hey all. Thanks for the info. Really useful. Will look into eBay for DP 3.xx Seems, from what I read, that the setup I'm using should do, especially since I'm not doing any MIDI. I'll just have to see how many audio tracks i can stack up before things start bugging out. Dallas, you wrote: >Also I wo...
