You could try ProSoft Datarescue II, which I've had good success with, but it will depend on how much activity you've had on your disk and if the sectors with the DP file have been overwritten.

Make both of them the audio hardware. In hardware setup in DP, ctrl click your 896 and the PodXT to load drivers. You can then choose the PodXT as an input in your tracks. I dunno. I can't get any MIDI file loaded any way. Same in DP 4.6. It's a single part MIDI file. I think all I'd need is one track; but I even tried it with a new 32 track session.

I can load it in Sibelius fine.

By all rights I should be able to just drag the file to the tracks window and create a new track.

Waxman, that doesn't work. DP starts up, but doesn't load the file. Doesn't err out, just starts DP. I'd already tried this by ctrl clicking and opening with DP. Neither method works.

I know the .mid is okay; I can open with every other MIDI app. Tried other .mid files too.

Toodamnhip: .mid is a MIDI data file. Could be a song or other tune of MIDI sequence.

Tried that. Nothing. File just springs back into the finder window. This is crazy. Tried it with a few different .mid files.
