It is an unreasonable assumption to expect that a computer will never crash.

I ordered DP7 as soon as it was made available, and my initial use is showing that it is way better than DP6.
I would assume that DP7 with further development is more stable than DP6, as DP6 was a disaster.

Thanks- I don't believe that mac osx 10.4.9 was ever certified for this version of ProTools, although I'll finally be upgrading to Leopard next week. We'll see then!

Some things I've found that really help: In DP, disable automatic beat detection. In Prefs, select "wait until dsp needed" parameter. Also, if you are in Tiger / ProTools 7, make sure that your firewire drives have journaling enabled via Apple disk utilty. Finally, I was advised by MOTU Ma...

I work on many different computers and have found that 4.61 was far more stable than 5.01 in every configuration that I've used, especially when used with ProTools HD hardware.
