Re: DP8 Help Menu: PDF manuals won't open (solution)
Thanks, guys! Just to be clear, as I mentioned in the post, I got it working by installing Adobe Reader, so I'm posting more for reference, as I figure others will probably run into this. @Shooshie, yeah...I'm accessing it directly from the DP Help menu, and the pdfs are in the default location (App...

DP8 Help Menu: PDF manuals won't open (solution)
I just installed DP8 on my new-ish MacMini, and the Help Menu would load some basic help documentation (the .html ones), but not the 'User Guide', 'New Features...', (all .pdf files). It looked like it had tried, but nothing happened...no error message or anything. I found them using Spotlight, but ...

Re: MTP/AV USB Stops Responding
Problem solved...the MTP/AV's battery had died. Size 2032 (3V), which they had at the local drug store.

MTP/AV USB Stops Responding
I'm having some trouble with my MTP/AV USB (or maybe it's Audio MIDI Setup that's the problem). Here's the deal: A borrowed MacBook / 2.2GHz Core2 Duo / OS 10.5.8 / 4GB RAM / Nuendo 4.2.2 If I go into Audio MIDI Setup, add a controller and hook it up, it will work fine at first, but within about 15-...

SampleTank 2.2.1 Crashing DP 5.1
Arrgh. I just upgraded my Amplitube to 2.1, and SampleTank to 2.2.1. Now, if I pull up a session with SampleTank in it, DP crashes right at the point where it tries to instantiate SampleTank. If I make a new session, DP launches fine, though SampleTank isn't even in the IK plug-ins menu anymore. An ...

Emeryville, huh? Let's see now...windmill-powered SGI workstations? Advanced Recording Techniques for 'Lothar and the Hill People'? Purple-haired lab instructors sleeping on the control room floor? George Clinton smoking crack in the bathroom? How could I forget...I'm still paying it off  I'll...

Found the Answer
No replies  , but I got it running, so I thought I'd post my solution, in case anyone needs the info in the future: First, I uninstalled all things MOTU. I didn't notice that the 'uninstall' feature on the DP4 CD-ROM was of much help in that regard...after running the uninstaller, I found tons ...

Old School: DP4/G3 iMac Question
SHORT QUESTION: (more detailed description below) What is the highest version of DP4 that will run on a 600MHz 'Snow' iMac, and what FireWire driver version would be appropriate? I only need it for playback of a 'single' quad channel at 44.1/16-bit, with no plug-ins, so I'm just talking straight com...

I was having trouble with SampleTank 2.1 crashing as soon as I assigned its outputs to my 002Rack in DP5. Simply modifying the text file as noted worked for me. I didn't have to trash or reinstall anything. As mentioned, there may be more than one copy of the prefs file on your HD, so be sure to fol...

Thanks, chrispick. Yeah, when I double-click on Stylus or Sampletank on the insert, it does pop up, but only as a minimized window (I see DP's drop-down selectors and window controls, but no plug-in GUI). Yet, if I double click a MOTU V.I., then it pops up as you'd expect, GUI and all... I thought m...

Why Can't I See Stylus RMX or Sampletank in DP5?
When I create an instrument track and then select a MOTU V.I. from insert #1, I see that instrument's GUI. If I then switch it via the dropdown menu to SampleTank or Stylus RMX, it does switch over, but I don't get a GUI. Neither is either V.I. available as a MIDI track destination. I re-installed t...

I have three XT's too: I keep two of them for spare parts for the one I'm not using. The vacuum fluorescent displays are still among the nicest I've ever seen, and provide excellent mood lighting, which I imagine the BRC would only enhance. Seriously, unless you're running a commercial studio, where...

Hey billlydrummerboy: I just got a dual 2.7, to run DP (or PT LE) ReWired to Reason 3.0, with Sampletank 2 and Amplitube as plug-ins, along with a pair of UAD-1's. Similar to what you're planning, I think. Been busy with the day job, and I'm still installing all of my hard/software and doing updates...
