I would like to know how the new chunks playlists feature works - whether it is suitable as a replacement for the Song window for composing larger pieces out of smaller sequences. To do so (in my opinion) it would have to handle overlaps between chunks.

It also obviously depends on whether you use a lot of samples or not. If you want to load 32GB of samples, then I seriously doubt you are going to be able to fit them into 16GB, no matter how efficient the architecture is.

The time to be worried about obsolescence is 3 years from now. If you need a new Mac, buy one. I'm happily using a 2015 Mac Book Pro now. I can still run the latest DAWs and plugins on this machine.
