Here's a recording of what the glitch sounds like, when it happens on my system:
https://www.robotplanet.dk/f/motu/MotuGlitch1.wav
I'm posting this hoping that it'll help people saying "yes, that's the same thing" or "no, my problem sounds very different".

Re: Sudden high pitch distorted sound: Why is my new interface doing this?
I had an epiphany just now: I had youtube playing a video, and while it was playing, I turned off my Deepmind-12 synthesizer which is connected over USB. The exact moment when I flipped the switch, the sound went into this high pitched distorted version that this whole thread is about. This is the f...

Re: Possible to MOTU Out 1-24?
Is it somehow possible to split the Out 1-24 into several stereo playback devices? :?: Like Out 3-4, 5-6 and so on. I just noticed this thread, and it looks very similar to when I bought my 16A card, and realized that input/output pairs 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9-10 etc were missing. Only intputs and outputs...

Re: Anyone running motu with Ryzen?
AMD 5900X CPU + Motu 16A (usb connected) here, Windows 10, 64 bit. The bad: 1-3 times a week the soundcard goes into a mode where the output sounds metallic, as if there's something buffer related that's gone crazy. It has never happened to the input. Changing either sample rate or buffer size fixes...

Re: Sudden high pitch distorted sound: Why is my new interface doing this?
I replaced the USB cable with a brand new one a week ago, and I think this might have helped, as the glitch hasn't happened for an entire week. But it just glitched out just now, so the problem certainly isn't solved (at least on Windows, that is). Being a sporadic error, it's hard to tell if the gl...

Re: Sudden high pitch distorted sound: Why is my new interface doing this?
Oh, my bad. I hadn't noticed that the 5th post on page 1 had been edited with the resolution that replacing the USB cable helped.

Re: Sudden high pitch distorted sound: Why is my new interface doing this?
.... And i'm back with bad news. It just glitched out again. This time while playing youtube in firefox. I guess the new driver didn't do the trick. The change-log didn't mention anything relevant, so I'm not that surprised. I have a suspicion that on Windows it happens mostly if WaveOut/MME is invo...

Re: Sudden high pitch distorted sound: Why is my new interface doing this?
Brand new MOTU UltraLite mk5 works perfectly… until it does not. All of a sudden, the sound gets crazy with high pitch distorted peaks. I change the sample rate from 96K to 44K and the audio becomes normal again. Then switch back to 96K and the audio remains normal. (It does not seem to the be a pr...

Re: My new Motu 4 and sound problem listen to this
It could also be a buffer size that's wrong somewhere.
Notice how it's slowed down.

Re: pcie424+2408mk3
I don't recognize that specific error scenario, but it does sound like as if the PCI card doesn't manage to discover the 2408 card. Now, I forgot if the cable between the Motu PCI card and the 2408 has to be the one that comes from Motu, or if you can use a random firewire cable? Maybe that's the is...

Enabling all inputs and outputs on Motu 16A
I've made a tool to make it easier for Windows users to get access to inputs and outputs 3 and up (when not using ASIO). I hope this helps someone. https://www.robotplanet.dk/audio/motu/MotuChannelEnabler.zip https://www.robotplanet.dk/audio/motu/motu_channel_enabler.png It simply sets the above reg...

Re: Motu 16A Windows audio routing
Thank you for assistance. In a streak of pure luck combined with searching the internet a few dozen times more I've found this hidden feature on another forum, where someone also noticed the shortcomings of the driver's default behavior. Basically adding this key to the registry database enables inp...

Re: Motu 16A Windows audio routing
Yes it does, but in a weird way. I get two sets of outputs and two sets of inputs: "Speakers" (outputs 1-2) "Out 1-24" (outputs 1-24 out of 16, bundled into one weird multichannel thing) "In 1-2" (inputs 1-2) "In 1-24" (inputs 1-24 out of 16, bundled into one ...

16A is DC compatible!
Just a quick head-up for people using eurorack modules and modular synths: It appears the 16A card is DC compatible just like the good old 24 I/O card was, and even offers a more powerful output. I slapped on a multimeter and measured: Max positive DC output Cold to hot: 13.93 volt Ground to hot: 7....
