Nobody care to verify or not? This delay occurs even after a reinstall of OSX (which cured other ills) and deleting of DP prefs.
I was hoping find out if others were experiencing it, or if I need to further troubleshoot... If so, I believe I can get an install of 7.24 from Motu.

Re: Delay between key command and UI updating in 8.0.1
I mean that the visual interface has a delay when I move the MIDI note. The sound is instantaneous, and the note moves later.
This is the same regardless of the audio device(s) selected in hardware setup, or of what the MIDI track is routed to.

Just want to mention - I had a similar problem and solved it the same way. A half hour unattended, all settings saved.

Delay between key command and UI updating in 8.0.1
2 questions-
In DP8 When I use the command to nudge up or down in the MIDI or sequence editor there is a delay, like a half a second before the note moves. Are you experiencing that?
How about in 7.24?

Re: Embarrassingly simple technique question...
This is a bug actually. I was in touch with motu support this week, and got an email from them saying they had confirmed
...the issue of using the tab key to move to the next event. That will be updated in a future maintenance release for DP8.

Input, not output.
Wow, your photo brought back a flood of images from life back then...
It was a fun time for computers. I lived in France then and had a minitel from the phone company. It was the proto-internet. they recently shut it down.

Ha! Yes! 1040. Seeing that box brought back memories!
Yeah, what a machine. MIDI and 1/4 inch audio inputs out of the box. You could plug it into a TV or computer monitor.

Re: More info on Sibelius team at Steinberg!
I have used Steinberg's Cubase for years, with gaps in between. I knew it on the Atari 1024 in the early '90s, and picked it up again in 1994 or so. The developers are not afraid to drop old code, that's for sure. When they made the move to OSX they rewrote the app, and it literally took 10 years to...

Greetings - long time no see- I tried DP a while back but couldn't get up to speed fast enough to finish what I was working on so I went back to my previous sequencer... (and sold DP7). Well now I bought DP8 and am impatiently waiting for the box to arrive, and intend to devote some time to learning...

Re: Which: Optimization or realistic expectations
I rarely push my mac to the limits with audio, glad to know my expectations are correct. The movie is small. The problem was pretty specific, using transport controls to shuttle back in forth - (4,5,6, and + on the numeric keypad). I have to wait a second for a response to a keypress sometimes. This...

Which: Optimization or realistic expectations
Hi, So, I have been bringing this project over to DP. it's 30 minutes long and consists of one QT movie, 4 tracks of audio, 2 stereo, 2 mono. and many soundbites, maybe 150 that I dragged from the Finder. These are 2 to 30 second audio files. Project is 44k. I would like to know if what I'm experien...

Re: Moved to DP, have workflow question
Excellent, QT pro 7 did it. You can even move frame by frame with right and left arrow keys.
Yeah I tried imovie once or 10 times, not fun.
Thanks guys!

Moved to DP, have workflow question
Hi all, I am learning DP, by basically throwing myself into it. Things are moving along peaceably. Here's my problem-- I am working on a dance piece. No, no, that's not the problem. :P I meet with the choreographer and we watch video of past performances of this work-in-progress in Cubase 5. Cubase ...
