Please help : Loosing Movie in 64bits ???

Post by dactarus »

Hi,
Movies play fine when using DP8.01 in 32bits mode.
In 64bits, windows remains black, no movie (same with severals type of movies, all working fine in DP8.01-32 bits)
My system is "clean" ... except that I have both Quicktime 10.2 and 7.6.6 : could it be relative ?
Any ideas ...?
Thank you,
Emmanuel

no one ...?

Because movies work fine on my setup with DP8.01 at 32 bits, I imagine the 64 bits may be in cause ?
I've checked in Activity Monitor : when running DP in 64 bits, there is a "DV Out" process, linked to "Digital Performer Process (3032)" running at 32 bits.

Could someone running DP8.01 at 64 bits (and playing movies without problem) confirm me that this DV Out process (32 bits) is a normal behaviour ?

It would help me to investigate.

Thank you,
Emmanuel

DP8 cannot play .dv movies AFAIK so that means no streaming to the FW port. I just use Quicktime movies as I can send them to a second monitor. Should be fixed soon.

OK, but I just try to play regular .mov inside DP (no FW external monitor) : I never had any trouble with the movie window in DP since years .
But now, I just get a black empty movie window when launching DP8.01 in 64 bit mode.
(sorry for my english)

Contact MOTU. It is working fine here, just no .dv files., only .mov files are working.

Just for laughs, have you repaired permissions since installing?

We should have a new drinking game. Every time MIDI Life Crisis recommends someone to repair permissions for a DP8 issue...take a drink.

(That's a joke now MLC....and I agree with it)....

:headbang:

Re: Please help : Loosing Movie in 64bits ??? (Solved)

Solved after a re-install of Moutain Lion via recovery partition : movies now play fine in 64 bits mode !
I didn't know that the recovery partition let re-install the system without erasing datas, app, pref etc (I was ready to manualy restore from TM backup), a real time saver !
Thank you

Just want to mention - I had a similar problem and solved it the same way. A half hour unattended, all settings saved.
