Help getting my 828mk3 talking to Mac again...

I recently upgraded to the newest Macbook Pro. I was able to get my 828mk3 Firewire working with a firewire to Thunderbolt 2 adaptor connected to a Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adaptor. Things were working fine when my Mac went out. Apple replaced the logic board and the touch bar. All my info was...

Screenshots of DP 2

I started using DP at 2.7. Does anyone have any screenshots from that era? I found a few small ones doing a google search, but nothing that great.

I just want them for nostalgic reasons. It takes me back to my beige G3 with a 4GB hard drive.

Re: Help me get this tempo map correct!

SWEET! Why didn't I know about this sooner? (I just looked in my manual under "Record Beats", I haven't actually done it yet).

So is "Record Beats" for the times you need to keep the MIDI notes there, and Tap Tempo for when you need to align the click for audio?

Help me get this tempo map correct!

I've got a client who is recording at a different studio but wants me to notate the MIDI string parts for her so she can have live players play them. (I'm mixing the album when it's finished, otherwise I'd just turn this tedious work down). They recorded very rubato MIDI piano without a click track,...

Re: Problem locating files from earlier DP sessions...

Solved my own problem... you have to go into a previous version of DP (I went into 7.12), make a change, then save it, close 7.12 and open 7.2.

Annoying... hope they fix it.

Problem locating files from earlier DP sessions...

I have tons of sessions I did back in DP3, and I have them all saved to DVD. I often pull a session off the DVD onto my hard drive to do a remix, etc. I just tried with 3 different sessions I did in DP3, and all of the soundbites had question marks next to them. All of the files are sitting right wh...

Re: DP is lowering waveform levels on import... HELP!

There isn't any bussing going on, and there really isn't any chain to speak of where it could be getting reduced. I'm using an 828mkIII for my A/D, no external mixer, just going straight from the 828 to my monitors. I'm basically importing straight from a CD into DP, and then dragging it out to a tr...

DP is lowering waveform levels on import... HELP!

For many years I've imported audio from professionally recorded CD's to try to match their levels when I master one of my own tracks. You know how it looks when you import a professionally mastered pop song - it's almost just one long fat chunk of waveform because the levels are so hot. You hit play...

New studio monitors sound the same as the old! Thoughts?

So I've been mixing on a set of Yorkville YSM-1's for the past 10 years. Yorkville is a Canadian company, not too well known in the US, but I think their products rock. I've also been using some of their microphones (under the brand name Apex) for many years. My monitors are in the $500 price range....

Can I use patch cables from sound modules to A/D?

I've got a question: Would it be a bad idea to use patch cables to go from my sound modules to my A/D converter? The patch cables aren't shielded, and I was thinking that might compromise the sound quality (or let interference creep into the signal). But then I was thinking - why are using patch cab...

MOTU Plugs vs. Waves Plugs

I can't believe I've gone for so many years without knowing about this forum! I've been an avid DP and MOTU hardware user for as long as I can remember! Anyway - about my question. I'm using DP7, and I'm going to be getting some Waves plugs. I'll most likely get the Native Power Pack, but I was thin...
